This week has gone fairly well, except lor an allergic reaction

urious cars which will not get you there any faster. The advertis*
ers are as slick as the real estate folks. Not the quality of the
product, but the quality of the ads which count. Last year a 5
tuUa per hour bumper was unsato. This year it is listed as a tea*
lure, Many vans, etc. state that the product satisfies all national
safely features, then in fine print states "except models with dark
glass." Air bags were forced on the manufacturers. Now they are
Wonderful features! The advertising business surely is wonderful.

Coastal habit workshop
scheduled this summer
A ‘coastal habitat’ workshop will be held at three Palacios
area locations between July 12-14.
The workshop is being presented by the Nature Conservancy
of Texas, the Palacios Marine Education Center, and the U. S,
Fish dt Wildlife Service. The workshop will take place during the
three day period at the nature Conservancy’s Mad Island Marsh
Preserve near Collegeport; the Palacios Marine Education Center
in Palacios; and the Enron Environmental Education & Research
Center on Matagorda Island.
Participants in the “Awareness of Coastal Habitat" workshop
will receive 18 hours of environmental education issued through
TEA’S Texas Environmental Education Advisory Committee.
The workshop will include hands-on activities concerning
freshwater/saltwater marsh ecology, wetland restoration, Gulf
beach organisms and habitat, and Island backbay organisms and
habitat.
Participants will spend one night on Matagorda Island at the
new Enron facility adjacent to Wynne Ranch.
The foe for the workshop is $26. For more information, call

Chamber of Commerce wilt be held at 12 noon Thursday (June
