1. All contestants must have paid their entry
fee and be registered prior to catching any
fish entered in the tournament. Deadline for
registration and entry fee payment will be 10
p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 1985. Between 5-10
p.m. Aug. 9 registration will be accepted
only at tournament headquarters at Seren-
dipity Resorts.
2. In order for a fish to qualify, it must be
caught after 12:00 a.m. August 10 and must
be weighed at the official weigh-in station no
later than 7 p.m. the same day it is caught
(Aug. 10 and 11).
3. The weigh-in station located at tourna-
ment headquarters at Serendipity Resorts
will be open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Aug. 10
and 11. All contestants with entries waiting
in line at 7 p.m. will be weighed.
4. The Inshore Division is limited to fishing
within a 50-mile radius of Palacios. The
Offshore Division area is limited to 100-miles
offshore.
5. All fish entered must be in a fresh, edible
condition. Fish that have been frozen or
otherwise preserved are automatically dis-
qualified. All fish entered will be thoroughly
examined and tested by tournament officials.

7. When a tie exists, the fish that weighed
fifst will be the winner.
8. ; All fish must be caught on hook and line
only.
9. Any fish which is gutted, mutilated or
altered from its natural state prior to
weigh-in will not be accepted for entry in the
contest nor be eligible for prizes.
10. Anyone taking the jaws or otherwise
mutilating any shark must also dispose of the
entire carcass.
11. All fish left at the weigh-in station will
become the property of the FishFest
Tournament sponsors.
12.0nly the official weigh-in station can
accept and record entries. Any appeals must
be made to the judging committee before the
end of the tournament along with a $15
appeal fee (to be refunded if appeal is
upheld). On all matters, decisions of the
judges shall be final.

13. Official records at the weigh-ln station,
and not the status board, will determine the
winners.
14. Each fish submitted will be weighed once
and only once.
15. Any person found to be intentionally
altering any fish or violating contest rules
will be disqualified from any and all
competition for the entire tournament.
16. In the event of a storm or small craft
advisory during both days of the tournament,
the tournament sponsors have the option ro
reschedule the event for the following week.
Otherwise as little as one day of acceptable
weather will constitute the tournament. In
the event the tournament is not rescheduled,
80% of the entry fee will be refunded.
1,7- In the interest of safety, sharks, gars and
rays may be shot immediately prior to
landing. Sharks that are shot do not qualify
for IGFA records if so intended.
18. No fish may be transferred between
boats or contestants.

A FishFest Tournament reception for all
contestants will be held from 7-10 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 9 at the Tournament Headquar-
ters In the Club House at Serendipity
Resorts. Tournament officials will be on
baud to answer any questions concerning the
FishFest rules. Tourney registration submit-
ted between 5-10 p.m. Aug. 9 will only be
accepted at Tournament Headquarters.
