Death of Doctor Wolf.
Dr. J. M. Wolf, father of President
M. M. Wolf of Pulaclos Aouclemy
Jno. E. Wolf, assistant cashier of Pa-
lacios State Bauk, Mrs. A. H. Eoltols
and Miss Linde Wolf, all of this olty,
died at his home at Kookdale, Mon
day afternoon at three o’clock at the
age of 75 years. Funeral services
conducted by the Baptist pastor, Rev
Blaylock, were held at the family
home Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock
attended by a large assembly of the
friends and neighbors of the family
of the deceased.
Dr. Wolf had spent a portion of the
summer with his son, President Wolf,
at his home at the academy, and had
returned to his home a short'time
before in apparent fair health, aud
telephone message received lust Sat
urday by Mr. Jno. E. Wolf that his
father was not expected to live, came
as a great shock and surprise. Pres
ident Wolf, who had attended the
opening meetings of the Fifth Sunday
services of the Colorado association at
ElCampo, came home oil the Satur-
day evening train, expecting
preaoh at the auditorium Sunday eve
ning. Saturday night the two broth
era went to Blessing taking the
Brownsville train for Rockdale, and
were at their father’s bedside when
the end came.
Dr. Wolf was the father of ten chil
dren, all of whom survive him except
two, the two Bons and two daughters
mentioned at the beginning of this
notice being residents of and having
a wide circle of friends at Palacios
who mourn with them in their great
sorrow.
Dr. Wolf was a practicing physician
for over thirty years, aud was one
the most learned blble students and
theologians of the state, and lived
Christian life that was exemplified
in all his deedB and works, and which
ass an inspiration to all with whom
lie came in contact.
