Detroit.—A now kneo-action model,
the Master Six Sport sedan, is an-
nounced by Chevrolet. It is a four-
door five-pass'.-niter sedan with built-
in trunk. Now features of appeainnco
and equipment distinguish it from
other models of the line.
The newest Chevrolet ha* the ap-
pearance of increaser streamlining,
through the adoption of a modified
roof line, to permit the rear panel to
blend smoothly into the lines of the
trunk. The entire rear panel, includ-
ing the trunk, is made of a single
stamping. |
Advantage has been taken of all
available space to provide a commo.
dious baggage eompartnunt. The trunk
is 49V& inches wide, 17% inches fore
and aft, and 19% inches high.
The spure wheel is mounted at the
rear of the trunk; spare wheels car-
ried in fender wells may be had on
order.
To provide protection for trunk,
spare whi el, and fenders, a specially
formed rear bumper, with a greater
arch, is used.
The rear quarter windows differ
from those used in ull other 1934 mod-
els. A no-draft ventilation unit, piv-
oted top
a T-hnndlc, comprises the entire win- opeiate legally without the NRA plate,

Beet juice cocktail and pickled car-
rots are two of the new canning reci-
pes broadcast in the recent National
School of Pressure Cooking, end re-
ceived in the Home Demonstration of
! fices by Mrs. I,cola Cox Sides, agent.
Haye you ever tasted pickled ear
rots? They are delicious and here
how they’re made: Cook the carrots
whole until a trifle underdone. Pack
them hot into the tins with tops and
tails alternating to make a firm pack,
then pour over them hot spiced vine-
gar, seal and process for 8 minutes at
2 lbs. pressure. Spiced vinegar
prepared as follows: Mix 1 pint vine-
gar, one pint sweet cider, one table-
spoon mixed spices and granulated
sugar to taste. Simmer for about ten
minutes. This is sufficient for 1%
quarts of cooked carrots.
Beet juice cocktail is made by mix-
ing 1% cups of juice drained from can-
ned beets, two tablespoonfuls of sugar,
one teaspoonful of salt and a dash of
popper. Serve very cold in cocktail
glasses. This will yield eight to ten

newest of motoring sensations is a marvel

The most ambitious attempt ever
made by u motion picture studio to
bring an adventure story to the screen
has just been completed with the film-
ing of "Tarzan und His Mate,” new
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer thrill pictur-
featuring Johnny Weissmuller and
Maureen O’Sullivan to be shown Sun-
lay and Monday ut the* Queen Theatre.
Efforts to surpass all previous jun-
gle pictures made necessary the crea-
tion of a hundred acre area packed
densely with trees and undergrowth
into which African animals of all kind
were released.
Fifty Lions Used
Beasts that are shown in action in-
clude a herd of more than twenty ele-
phants, more than fifty lions, a man-
killing rhinoceros, chimpanzee, mon-
keys, Wunderbeeste, gazelles, hippo-
potami, boa-constrictors and hundreds
of oth r specimens of rare jungle life.
Two of the biggest climaxes of the
picture show a herd of maddened ele-
phants ehnrging a safari of natives
and white men nnd later an attack of
dozens of lions upon a camp. Wild ani-
mal men and a crew of 1,090 produc-
tion men were r eruited from all parts
of the country to assist the studio in
obtaining the scenes.
The new story continues the ad-
ventures of Tarzan, played by Weis-
smuller, when a safari of white men
att mpt to raid the “elephants’ burial
ground” of millions of dollars worth
of ivory. Tarzan’s attempts to protect
the sacred jungle hoard get him into
breath-taking hazards that far sur-
pass the thrills of “Tarzan, the Ape
Man.”
Of special interest in the picture
are scenes taken under water by a
ixeial process that has recorded the
strangest sight ever seen by human
ye—a battle between a man and a
giant crocodile.
The Players
The notable supporting cast includes
many players remembered for their
roles in “Tarzan, the Ape Man,” in-
cluding Neil Hamilton, Forrester Har-
vey, Doris Lloyd, of the original cast,
and Paul Cavanaugh, William Stack,
Desmond Roberts and Nathan Curry
added.
Cedric Gibbons, long known for his
work as an art director and designer
of unique sets, makes his debut as a
director with the new film and is said
to have incorporated many new ideas
in his screen technique.
