Palacios police news,
Several windows to residences
and one car window on Second
Street were reported shot out by
a BB gun during the past week
according to reports at the
Palacios Police Department.
A man reported that a bullet
hole had been shot through a
window at his residence in the
500 block of Second Street on

summer youth
employment to
be taken Friday
Applications will be taken this
Friday (May 22) beginning at 9
a.m. at the Palacios High School
for youth interested in summer
employment.
The Palacios Job Training
Program is targeted toward
economically disadvantaged you-
th between the ages of 14 and 21,
and others who huye substantial
barriers to employment.
Each student may earn app-
roximately $1,300 working in
public, non-profit agencies in
areas of general maintenance,
clerical, library, teacher, and day
care aides.
Any students wanting to apply
can contact < Bernard Rother at
Palacios High School or Mary
Barnhill at the Junior High for
pre-application forms. Eligibility
is determined by federal income
guidelines.

May 15. Two days later a second
resident in the same block
reported that rocks were thrown
and a BB gun fired through two
windows of his house.
A third criminal mischief inci-
dent involving a BB gun was
reported in the 600 block of
Second on May 15. The object of
that incident was a rear window
of a 1976 Buick.
A report was received Monday
of a bicyclist having been shot at
with a BB gun by juvenile(s).
Details of that incident were not
available at press time.
A woman told police that a
man had busted out a window of
her 1979 Chrysler on Mav 18.
Police received a report on
May 12 from a man in the 300
block of 10th Street that he was
physically attacked by his wife
during an argument.
A resident in the 400 block of
Welch reported that men work-
ing on a city garbage truck had
allegedly picked up a 5-gallon
bucket of dog manure May 11
which was not intended for
disposal. After the man filed an
official complaint, police arrested
and charged a sanitation crew
employee with theft. Chief Don
Guleett said the man was releas-
ed on personal recognizance and
the case turned over to the
municipal judge.

package for city employees as
well as consideration of a dental
insurance plan. The council
agreed to wait before discussing
the two plans until department
heads had the opportunity to
confer with their personnel and
review the proposals.
The council voted to include a
per diem rate of $20 per day ($5
each for both breakfast and lunch
and $10 for dinner) to be included
