A $3 million grant called 'Enterprise
Zone' is one program offered by HUD
and the Department of Agriculture. From
this, the city can apply for community
improvements such as street repairs and
additional housing.
"Just think, if we could fix the streets
of Palacios, this would be an accom-
plishment itself," said Perez, adding "It is
of the utmost importance that the City of
Palacios and the community work to-
gether with the Housing Authority in or-
der to achieve these wonderful new pro-
grams."
The deadline to submit for the Enter-
prise Zone is June 30.

to qualified individuals received over
$7,400 in March by HUD- Representa-

turn over more vouchers for Palacios.

HUD. Tenants are allowed a reduced
rental fee based on ability to pay and
