Stuhrenberg PHS valedictorian, ADums salutatorian
Julie Dawn Stuhrenberg, the 18*year
old daughter of Marvin and Joan Stuhren-
berg, has been named Valedictorian of
‘94 is Steven Craig Alluras, the I8*year
old son of Richard and Jeanette AUums.
he had a final grade average of 3.98.
The two students will be honored dur-
ing the PHS commencement exercises to
be held at 8 p.m. Friday, May 27 in the
Fine Arts Auditorium. Commencement
speaker will be the Rev. Gary Janak.
Julie has been a member of the Na-
tional Honor Society, Student Council,
choir, 4-H Club, homecoming court and
drill team. She has participated in track
where she earned the Outstand-
ing Track Award for two years
and basketball where she was
an All-District honorable men-
tion selection. She has also taken
part in cross county, volleyball
and tennis as well as FFA steers
and land judging teams.
She was named Miss Pala-
cios for 1993 and won the Val-
entine Sweetheart title in 1994.

He has served as Texas Boys State
delegate, student representative on the
Matagorda County Community Advisory
Panel and attended Texas Governor’s
School. He has received the "I Dare You"
Leadership Award and has been named to
Who’s Who Among American High
School Students and was selected as an
Academic Achiever. He was also a mem-
ber of the regional qualifying U. I. L.
Accounting Team and placed second at
the B. P. A. Regional Competition in
accounting.
Steven will attend the University of
Ulinois at Uibana-Champaign, lUinois
where he will major in accounting. He
will also participated in the Army R. 0. T.
C. program.

Palacios High School recognized and honored a number of
students during its 1994 awards assembly last week.
PHS Student Council Officers for the 1994-95 year are: Jen-
nie Stuhrenberg, President. Kyle Wallis, Vice President, Brandi
Duran, Secretary, Mai Le, Treasurer and Stephanie Chau, Re-
porter and Parliamentarian.
Certificates of Appreciation were presented to members of the
Shark Bite Newsletter: Editors Mary Lynn Mosier and Felicia
Marroquin; Staff: Toby Callahan, Chris Griffin, and Robert
Stout. ,

Navy Honors Program: Juniors, D’Ann Bowers. Wade
Kubecka, Mai Le and Emily Riccio. Seniors, Cassie Kubecka,
