For UNITED GAS Pipe Lines ...
A heavy protective coating is normally applied to every
foot of new pipe line laid by United Gas. That’s because
pipe is of steel and must be protected against rust. A
typical coating consists of primer, enamel and spiral-wrapped
covering, although certain conditions make it necessary to
supplement the covering with other types of protection.
More than 6,000 miles of main United Gas transmission
lines, providing natural gas to 354 cities and towns in the Gulf
South, are thus guarded against leaks caused by the
ravages of rust.
This is one of many functions of the United Gas organization
...all of which have the ultimate purpose of assuring a
more dependable supply of natural gas to our customers.
A mechanical cleaning machine
brushes dust from the outside
of the pipe line, then applies
a coat of primer.
A second machine applies a
thick coat of enamel—the prin-
cipal Insulation — and one or
more wrappings of material to
protect the enamel. When cool,
the enamel provides a hard
surface resistant to acids,
moisture or electrolytic actios
of the soil.

We really appreciated the extra
largo congregation on Sunday
morning. At the evening service
there were 23 in the Choir, made
up of Youth, and how they did
sing! They rpet three time during
the past week in their preparation
for the Christmas Cantata to be
sung on the night of December 19.
The Youth Group has won such
fame over the Conference and over
the Stnte with their Cantatas of
the past five years, that this year
the Hammond TIMES, published in
Chicago, is running a photo of
the 32 member group in the De-
cember issue. The photo was taken
during the singing of the Easter
Cantata last Spring. A sketch oi
the history of the group will be
published also, with the names of
its musical leaders.
The Southwest Texas Conference
NEWS, edited by Rev. R. F. Curl,
will publish in the December is-
sue, a photo and news column of
our new parsonage. This paper
goes into every church in the con-
ference, mainly into the homes of
its officials, and the Hammond
TIMES goes all over the world,
where there is a Hammond Organ
in a church or home.

Among the citations which com-
prise the Lesson-Sermon is the
following from the Bible: "Among
the gods there is none like unto
thee, O Lord; neither are there
any works like unto thy works”
(Psalms 86:8).
The Lesson-Sermon also includes
the following passage from the
Christian Science textbook, “Science

all others spiritual causation re-
