Palacios Catholic Daughters
host for District meeting
The Palacios Catholic Daugh-
ters met on Oct. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at
the church hall.
Regent Virginia Seaman asked
the new pastor, Father Gerry, to
lead the prayer for vocations.
Roll was called and minutes wer
read by the secretary. Treasur-
er’s'report was given by Janet
Racer.
; The Regent informed members
that the District meeting will be
hosted by the Palacios court.
A meeting will be held at the hall
following .the i p.m. mass at St.
Anthony’s on Sunday, Oct. 12.
Members were asked to bring
sandwiches, cookies and other
finger foods. 1
CDA Sunday is Oct. 19. The
members will observe this by
attending the 10 a.m. mass as a
group.
Members were asked to start
making Christmas decorations or
other craft items for the annual
turkey dinner which will be held
in the hall on Sunday, Nov. 8
beginning with serving at 11a.m.
The next meeting will be Nov.
5 at 7:30 p.m. at the CCD Hall.

Palacios were united in marriage
Sept. 6, 1986 at First Baptist
Church with the Rev. James
Gross officiating at the double
ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. George L. Parsley
of Palacios and the groom is the
son of Mary Ann Sutter of
Houston and Aubrey Sutter of
Cheaseapake, VA.
The church was decorated with
two standing basket arrange-
ments of white gladiolas, rose
pink carnations and greenery
adorning each side of the altar ;
and decorated arch centered.
Bows of white and dusty rose
satin accented the family pews.

president Oct. 13
Post 2467 VFW Ladies Aux-
iliary extend a hearty welcome to
District President Beverly Ann
Sanchez who will be making her
official visit Oct. 13.
Sanchez is married to District
16 Commander Robert E. San-
chez and reside in A'ief, Texas
with their 14 year old twins, Taira
and John. She is a member of
Dickinson Auxiliary where she
served two terms as president.
District 16 is comprised of *26
VFW posts and 23 Auxiliaries in
six counties: Galveston, Brazor-
ia, Colorado, Ft. Bend, Wharton
and Matagorda.
She is dedicated to preserving
veterans' rights and the rights of
their families. She continues to
promote patriotism and Ameri-

father, wore a formal gown of
white satin and alencon lace
designed by lllissa. The fitted
basque torso was lavishly over-
laid with re-embroidered alencon
lace, bridal pearls and paillettes.
A deep “V” neckline and classic
tapered sleeves were features.
The graceful skirt of satin fell to a
border of lace and swept to a
mangificent cathedral length tr-
ain accented by motifs of beaded
lace. With her gown, the bride
wore a camelot headpiece of
matching lace and pearls holding
white miniature carnations cent-
ered with four white cymbidium
orchids and accented with gyp-
sophilia and fresh greenery.
Daniel Bryant of Bay City was
best man.
Ushers were David O. Wallace
of Conroe and Fred Klingerman
of San Antonio.
The houseparty members were
Nancy Wallace, Virginia, Web-
ster, Linda Parsley, Estelle All-
ey, Johnnie Mae Lothridge,
Emily Harvey, Victoria Elders
and Mary Shearan.
