Weldon Bowers, 69, of Bay
City, were held at 3 p.m.
Friday, June 13, in the First
United Methodist Church
there with the Rev. S.
Merle Waters officiating
farm Bureau and Mata-
gorda County Farmers Co-
op. He died Wednesday,
June 11 at Methodist Hos-
pital in Houston.
Survivors include: his
wife, Mrs, Mayne Frances
Bowers of Bay City; daugh-
ter. Barbara Ann Bowers of
Merle Waters officiating. Galveston; sister, Lillian
Interment was in Cedarvale Almon of Portland; broth-
ers, Ray and Verner Bow-

He was a member of the

mained in the surgical
intensive care unit in
Houston's Hermann Hospi-

Police said Parten was
thrown 226 feet from his
motorcycle when it collided
with an auto drive by Pedro
Lara. 47, of Blessing.
Longoria was a passenger
in Lara's 1973 Ford.
Police said the mishap
occurred at 10:30 p.m. on
FM 288. near its inter-
section with FM 2004.
Both vehicles were
traveling north, according
to police and upon impact,
the auto crossed the
shoulder and ditch, crash-
ing into the tree limb.
