McAtester, Okla. and
now residing in RecfOak,
Tex., is an author of six
books and is a well-
known speaker to civic,
religious, charitable and
education groups. He
has previously beetr the
pastor of Calvary Baptist
Church in Lubbock and
of the Metropolitan Bap-
tist Church in Wichita,
Kansas. He has served
five years as President of
Dallas Baptist College.
" Reflections Of His
Love,” a new film high-
lighting the life and
ministry of Joni Eareck-
son. will be shown on
sundav at the Church of
the Nazarene. 1800 1st
Street. The color feature,
produced by World Wide
Pictures, the film minis-
try of the Billy Graham
Association, will be
shown once, beginning
at 7 p.m.
Miss Eareckson is the
star of a recent theatri-
cal motion picture,
JONI. which relates the
story of her diving acci-
dent, as a young girl,
which left her paralyzed
from the neck down. It
chronicles her struggfes
to piece together her life
and her faith in God, in
spite of the devastating
circumstances.
In "Relfections Of His
Love”, Miss Eareckson,
who is also the author of
two best-selling books,
"Joni” and “A Step
Further”, tells of the
great transformations
that have taken place in
her life because of her
willingness to accept all
of the things that have
happened to her.
The public is invited to
attend free of charge.
Steer weigh-ins held
Aug. 16 and 23 were
the weigh-in dates for
the 4-H clubs and F.F. A.
steers in MatagordarCo.—
The official weigh-in lo-
cations were in the Mat-
agorda Co. Fairgrounds
in Bay City, adn the
Palacios F.F.A. school
farm.
The Palacios Vocation-
al Agriculture Teachers.
Bill Miller and Erwin
Janszens, were assisted
in the weighing and
tagging the show steers
by County Agents
James Embtock and
Martha Lee. The new
vocational -counselor,
Mrs. Mary Barnhill
assisted by recording the
official weights and ear
tag numbers.
A total of- twenty-
seven steers were weigh-
ed in from the Palacios
area, and 121 from
across the County. The
steers, to qualify to~show
in March 1982 at the
Livestock Show, must
not weigh over the 425
| weight limit.
