The Ladies Aid met last Thurs-
day afternoon with Mrs. S. T. Swen-
son.
Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Griffith and
sons, Leslie and Glenn, attended
the funeral services in the Jack-
son Funeral Home at Corpus last
Saturday for R. C. Hall who pass-
ed awuy in that eity on Thursday,
August 16th.
Mrs. Merle Ramsey and daugh-
ters spent a few days of lust week
here in the 'W. M. Sells home while
Merle was away to receive his dis-
charge.
Mrs. Grace Sells entertained
group of young folks last Monday
night at the W. M. Sells home in
honor of Mr. and Mrs. lvalke.
Mr. Jess Denison and sister, Miss
Nannie, were out from Mississippi
and spent several days of last week
with Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Cavallin.
Sam Haynes is here from Alice
visiting Leslie Cole.
The Soil Conservation Surveyors
from Victoria are busy working in
the community now duys.
Most every farmer who has cot-
ton this year is busy gathering
their crops. So far very few transit
pickers have come in.
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Anderson of
Goose Creek spent last week here
with relatives.
Services were conducted at the
Lutheran Church Sunday night
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Wilson are
visiting his parents here at present.
They have bought them a place at
Bryan where Everett plans to enter
A. and M. College in September.
