"I said as I stood at the (late of
the Year: Give me a Light that I
may tread safely into the Un
known. And One said unto me:
Pul your hand in the Hand of God;
that shall be to you better than a
Light, safer than a Known Way."
Thus in the words of un ancient
Wise man, we look foiward imme-
diately ahead and are not quite cer-
tain what we shall encounter. But
if the Church has a message at nil
for the Day in which we live, that
message is that, with the hand in
the Hand of God, we need fear
nothing that may come. The mes-
sage next Sunday morning will
deal with the New Year. The
Church Bulletin will have a mes-
sage also, the last one of the three
month’s series which has been run-
ning during the Fall months.
Last Sunday certainly was a fit-
ting finale to the many hours of
work which the choir had given to
preparing for the Christmas music.
The Sanctuary and Annex were all
filled, the Christmas tree shone in
the background, the 27 members
of the Choir, most of them high
schoolers, marched down the cen-
ter aisle to the notes of the Church
bell, all prececded by the orgunist
who lighted the altar candles, then
.ill the choir gave the most beau-
tiful and emphatic rendition of
the Christmas chimes that could
be imagined. The new white robes
with their black shoulder stoles
lent symbolic charm and enchant-
ment to the service. Truly the Voice
of God is calling it’s summons unto
men.
On this present Wednesday night,
the members will gather at the
Church, enjoy the children's pro-
gram, exchange gifts, and make
their offering to the Children’s
Home at Waco. This is a Christmas
that can be one of dedication rath-
er than of Bacchanalian celebra-
tion. i. started as the Birthday of
a God. This Parsonage family in
tends to keep it that way.
CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SERVICES

cember 28. * ,

of the Lord shall be revealed, and
all flesh shaU see jt together: for
the mouth of the Lord hath spok-
en it” (Isiaiah 40:6).
Among th citations which com-
prise the Lesson-Sermon is the fol-
lowing from the Bible: “They shall
be abundantly satisfied with the
fatness of thy house; and thou
snalt make them drink of the river
of thy pleasures” (Psalms 36:8).

the following passage from the
Christian Science textbook, “Love

"A P O S T A S Y"
Error: Take no heed, for you
cannot fall.
Answer: 1 Cor. 10:12, “Where-
fore lot him that thioketh he
stnndeth take heed lest he fall.”
E. You cannot possibly full from
grace.
A. Gal. 5:4, "Christ is become of
no effect unto you,' whosoever of
you are justified by the law; ye are
fallen from grace."
E. A child of God, though a liar,
will still have part in heaven.
A. Rev. 21:8, “But the fearful,
and unbelieving, and the abomin-
able, and murders, and whoremon-
gers, and sorcers, and idolaters, and
all liars, shall have their part in
the lake which burneth with fire
and brimstone."
E. A child of God will receive
the crown of life whether he is
faithful or not.
A. Rev. 2:10, "Be thou faithful
unto death, and 1 will give thee a
crown of life.”
E. Every branch in Christ will be
preserved whether fruitful or not.
A. John 15:2, "Every branch in
me that beareth not fruit he taketh
away: and every branch that
beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that
it may bring forth more fruit.”
E. The Lord never lets his child-
ren die in disobedience.
A. Matt. 27:5, "And he cast down
the pieces of silver in the temple,
and departed, and went and hanged
himself.” Acts 5:5, “And Ananias
hearing these words fell down, and
gave up the ghost.”
E, The Lord referred only to
man’s work when he referred to
burned branches.
A. John 15:6, “If a man abide
not in me he is cast forth as a
branch, and is withered.”
E. Right to the tree of life is un-
conditional with the child of God.
A. Rev. 22:14, “Blessed are they
that do his commandments, that
they may have right to the tree
of life, and may enter in through
the gates into the city.”
E. Jesus said Judas was a devil
from the beginning.
A. John 6:70, “One of you is a
devil.” Note: IS does not mean
WAS.
E. The devil had always been in
Judas.
A. John 13:27, “And after the
sop Satan entered into him.”
E. Since the prodigal son was
still a child of his father, he was
not really lost.
A. Luke 15:24, “For this my
son was dead, and is alive again;
he was lost, and is found.”
E. The stray sheep was still a
sheep, hence was in no danger.
A. Luke 15:4, “What man of you,
having an hundred sheep, if he lose
one of them, doth not leave the
ninety and nine in the wilderness,
and go after that which is lost, un-
til he find it?” (Adv.)
