The Smith-Bauer Dredging
Company of Port Lavaca was
moving to Palacios and a
channel with loading docks
was being constructed on the
bay at the end of sixth street.
Miss Gertrude Kocrber,
| who was attending John
Tarleton College, was one of
25 selected to sing over the
radio in the second presenta-
tion of the Tarleton Music
Hour.
The Sharks defeated the
Rockport team by 19-6; the
local All-Stars lost to the Port
Lavaca All-Stars 7-0.
At the close of the joint
session of six Methodist
Conferences held in Houston.
Rev. J. C. Gibbons was
returned to Palacios for his
second year.

M. E. Rogers opened a
grocery store in the building
on Commerce formerly oc-
cupied by W. E. Hart.
Palacios football boys beat
the Edna boys to the tune of
12-6.
Miss Kate Thomas. County
Home Demonstration Agent,
organized a club here for the
girls with Oralee Hart,
president; Mabel Chamblee,
vice-president; and Juanita
Parker, secretary.
Grain terminal was
program subject
Palacios Young Farmers
meeting was held November I
at the Palacios High School
Vocational Agriculture Build-
ing.
The meeting, with 37 at-
tending, was called to order by
the president, Bruce Elliott.
After business was discussed,
Camp Mehrens gave a pro-
gram about the proposed grain
terminal to be operated by the
American Grain Association.

All young men interested in
agriculture are encouraged to
join the Young Farmers
organization.
Touring the states
Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Griffin
returned last Tuesday in time
to vote. For the past several
months they have been touring
the United States, traveling
more than 19,000 miles.
