TAKE NOTICE that an election
will be held in the City of Palacios,
Texas, on the 14th day of June,
1041, on the propositions and at
the place more particularly set
forth in the Order of Election
adopted by the City Council on the
19th day of May, 1941, which is bh

RESOLUTION AND ORDER
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PALACIOS, TEX-
AS. CALLING AN ELECTION ON
THE QUESTION OF THE ISSU-
ANCE OF REVENUE BONDS OF
SAID CITY IN THE AMOUNT OF
$10,000.00 FOR THE PURPOSE
OF THE EXTENSION AND IM-
PROVEMENT OF THE WATER-
WORKS SYSTEM OF SAID CITY;
AND ON THE QUESTION OF
THE ISSUANCE OF REVENUE
BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE
AMOUNT OF $20,000.00 FOR THE
PURPOSE OF THE EXTENSION
AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE
SEWER SYSTEM OF SAID CITY,
AND PLEDGING THE REVENUE
OF THE WATERWORKS SYS-
TEM FOR THE PAYMENT
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council
deems it advisable and to the best
interest of the City of Palacios to
extend and improve the Waterworks
System and the Sewer System of
said City; and
WHEREAS, it is considered to be
to the best interest of said City that
the extension and improvement of
the Waterworks System and the
Sewer System be financed by the
issuance of Revenue Bonds pay-
able solely from and secured by an

working surfaces vary not only with
the height of individuals hut also
with the length of arms and sitting
heights.
Where the height of the worker
is unknown, the standard height is
thirty-six inches.— —

2. That said election shall be held
at the City Hall Building, within
said City, and the following named
persons are hereby appointed mana-
gers thereof, to-wit;
C. L. Haynes, Presiding Judge,
Nellie Gray, Assistant Judge,
Blanche Claybourn, Clerk,
E. C. Pasal, Clerk.
3. That said election shall be held
under the provisions of and in ac
cordance with the laws governing
the issuance of municipal bonds by
cities, as provided in the General
Laws of the State of Texas, and
only qualified electors, who own
taxable property in the City and
who have duly rendered the same
for taxation, shall be qualified to
vote.
The ballots for said election shall
have written or printed thereon the
following:
‘FOR THE ISSUANCE OF WA-
TERWORKS SYSTEM REVENUE
BONDS, AND THE PLEDGING
OF THE REVENUES OF THE
WATERWORKS SYSTEM AND
THE SEWER SYSTEM OF SAID
exclusive first lien on and pledge city TO THE PAYMENT THERE"

works System and Sewer System,
after deduction of reasonable opera-
tion and maintenance expenses, all
in accordance with the provisions
of Articles 1111-1118, both inclu-
sive, of the 1925 Revised Civil Stat-
utes of Texas, as amended, and
no wise supported by an ad valorem
other tax on property in the
City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council
deems it necessary and proper that
the questions of the issuance
such revenue bonds and the pledg-
ing of such revenues be submitted
to the qualified electors of said
City;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLV-
ED AND ORDERED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PALACIOS, TEXAS:
1. That an election be held on
the 14th day of June, 1941, at which
election the following propositions
shall be submitted:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
“Shall the City Council of the
City of Palacios, Texas, be author-
ized to issue $10,000.00 Revenue
Bonds of said City, maturing serial
ly over a period of years not to ex
ceed twenty (20) years from their
date, bearing interest at the rate of
Four and one-fourth (4%%) per
cent per annum, payable semi-an
nually, for the purpose of financing
the extension and improvement
the Waterworks System of said
City-; and to provide for the pay-
ment of and interest on said bonds
by pledging the net revenues from
the operation of the Waterworks
System and the Sewer System of
said City.”

'“Shall the City Council of the
City of Palacios, Texas, be author-
ized to issue $20,000.00 Revenue
Bonds of said City, maturing serial-
ly over a period of years not to
exceed twenty (20) years from their
date, bearing interest at the rate of

cent per annum, payable semi-an-
nually, for the purpose of financing
the extension and improvement of
the Sewer System of said City; and
to provide for the payment of and
interest on said bonds by pledging
the net revenues from the opera-

As to each of the foregoing
propositions, each voter shall mark
out with black ink or black pencil
one of the above expressions, thus
leaving the other as indicating his
vote on the two propositions, re
spectively.
4. That a copy of this resolution
and order, signed by the Mayor of
said City and attested by the City
Secretary, shall serve as proper
notice of said election.
5. The Mayor is authorized and
directed to cause this notice of the
election to be posted at three pub
lie places within said City, one of
which shall be at the City Hall and
one of which shall be at the place
designated for holding said election,
for at least fifteen (15) full days
prior to the date of said election.
6. The Mayor ts further authoriz-
ed and directed to cause this notice
of election to be published in some
newspaper of general circulation
published in said City, once each
week for two successive weeks. The
date of the first publication shall
be not less than fourteen (14) full
days prior to the date of said elec-
tion.
