Deutschburq Home
Demonstration Club
The Deutschburg Home Demon-
stration Club met with the Caran-
cahua Club for a combined pro-
gram. Each club had a separate
short business meeting. There were
16 members present, seven from
Deutschburg Club and nine from
Carancahua.
This was our last meeting with
agent Mrs. Karen Kielman, who is
moving to Sabinal. A gift of a
crystal dish was presented to her
from this club.
Dora Mae Hurta was chosen
nominee for delegate to the State
T. H. D. A. meeting September 16-
17 in Galveston. Minna Vee Clem-
ents was chosen nominee for county
T. H. D. A. chairman. All other
business was postponed.

riage Wednesday, July 15, in a
ceremony performed in the home
of his daughter and son-in-law,

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
CharUe Shimek who celebrated
their 32nd wedding anniversary on
July 19. The Shimeks attended a
family reunion at Schulenberg on
Sunday. Many happy returns of
the day 'to this lovely couple, and
we hope they have many, many
more years together.
Sgt. and Mrs. Richard Whitley
and son have returned to the states
after a year in Germany. Mrs.
Whitley, the former Cindy Doubek
| of Bay City, her family, her mother
: Dorothy Doubek of Houston and
brother Anthony Doubek of Sar.
Diego, Calif, visited Mrs. Mozelle
Williams, the Johnny Williams and
Mr. and Mrs. Babe Williams this
past week. Sgt. Whitley will be sta-
tioned at El Paso after his 30 day
leave is up.
Happy birthday to Frank Gayle
whose birthday was eelehra (d
July 18 and to Mrs. Ruth Evans,
her birthday will be July 24.
Glad to report Mrs. Roy “Mom”
Nelson is now home after spending
a few days in Wagner General

Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Geron and
David of Fort Worth are spending
their vacation here with her moth-
er, Mrs. Edna Beard. They are en-
joying visiting ether relatives and
going fishing

exchange student three years ago
and attended High School in Port
Lavaca. She is now visiting friends
there, and was introduced by Mrs.
Leo Westerholm of Port Lavaca.
A get-well card was sent to Mrs.
Velma Harvey who is in Wagner
General Hospital. We wish her a
speedy recovery.
Our saying for now, “Leisure is
a beautiful garment, but it will not
do for constant wear."
