DR. AND MRS. J. R. WAGNER ARE HONORED WITH
HOUSEWARMING IN NEW HOME SUN. AFTERNOON
One of the nicest affairs of re-
cent date was the housewarming
given Dr. and Mrs. J. R. Wagner
at their lovely new home on Fourth
Street, Sunday afternoon* from 5
to 7 o’clock.
The house was gay with many
arrangements of flowers and
plants, sent to “Doc and Em” by
their many friends. An array of
other gifts were on display at-
testing to the high esteem in which
they are held, and the devotion of
the old-time friends of the hon-
orees.
After a tour of the house, the
guests were served delicious sand-
wiches, cake and coffee from the
dining table which was attractively
adorned with a home-made white
organdy cloth and a bouquet of
bright Autumn flowers gracing the
center of the table.
Hostesses for the happy occasion
were Mrs. Grace Barnett, Mrs.
Peggy Martin, Mrs. Ernette San-
ford, Mrs. Polly Wilcox, Mrs. Sun-
shine Edwards and Mrs. Elsie Lu-
ther.
Among the out-of-town guests
who called were Mrs. Amy Hall,
El Campo; Mr. and Mrs. 0. J.
Howard, Houston; Guy Barnett,
Bay City; Mr. and Mrs. Noble
Hayes, Boling, and Mr. and Mrs.
John Harlan Bonner and son of
Houston.
The gathering was enjoyed by
all those who attended and it is
reported that Dr. Wagner was
heard to say that he would love
to have such a party every Sunday.
Miss Ginger Richards, a student
at the University of Corpus Chris-
ti, visited her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. John W. Richards over the
week-end.

WHEN WORDS
FAIL YOU
It is often difficult to tell a dear
one just how much you love them.
Flowers in their own silent, beauti-
ful way express that sentiment •
for you. Fresh, lovely flowers say
“I love you” any day in the year,
let them speak for you. Send
