Misdemeanor crime in Whar-
ton County is high, but has
apparently leveled off in
several criminal classifica-
tions, as revealed in a county
court conviction summary
released by County Attorney
Homer Taylor. Total convic-
tions in 1976 came to 670,
compared to 648 in 1975.
"These cases are county court
misdemeanor and do not have
any reference to felony
cases," Taylor said. He also
said that during the first part
of of this year, 1977, overall
crime appears to be up,
especially in the categories of
theft by check, driving while
intoxicated and possession of
marijuana.
