Every Wednesday
The Matagorda County Tuber-
culosis Association invitei the pub-
lic to tune in on radio station KIOX
each Wednesday afternoon at 4:45
for a 15 minute educational pro-
gram pertaining to the cause, cure
and prevention of TB. This mater-
ial, which is authentic has been
prepared by doctors und scientists
who are in a position to give out
information on the subject of TB,
and will be presented over KIOX
by local people. These* 15 minute
broadcasts will be interesting as
well as instructive und will run
over a period of several weeks.

The Wednesday Club opened its

social meeting at the home of

sided in the absence of the presi-
dent, Mrs. Curl Bnckcn. Following
the usuul opening procedure, tables
were arranged for "42" and a num-
ber of exciting games were en-
joyed. Mrs, Sartwelle was assisted
with hostess duties by Mrs. J. B.
Kimball, Mrs. George Curtis, Mrs.
J. W. Bolling and Mrs, M. K.
Feather, who served a most up-
potising lunch.
The next meeting will be October
1, at the home of Mrs. John Bow-
den, with Mrs. Clark and Mrs.
Huynes giving the program.

Girl Scout Troop 18, met Tues-
day afternoon and was called to
order by tho president, Dorothy
Wickham. We are planning to make
gifts to send to the Girl Scouts
over seas, who need food and cloth-
ing. Invitations were mude to send
the Girl Scouts in Bay City, to
come to our Girl Scout birthday
purty. Wo sung several songs af-
ter which the mooting udjourned.

dist church Wednesday, September
10th. After the business purt of
our meeting we were given u sur-
prise party by our leuders, Mrs.
Carl Ehlers und Mrs. Reugan Ham-

members who is sailing to Japan 1

Brownie Troop No. 15 met for
their first regular meeting of the
season at the Presbyterian annex,
Wednesday, September 18th, 4 p.m.
Mra. M. O. Burton, last year's
leader, introduced the new leaders,
Mrs. Hugh J. Dismukcs and Mrs.
Earl Trcudwuy. Jane Burton was
elected Den Leader, Ass’t. Den
Leader, Kay Treudwuy, und song
Leader, Barbara Husnk. Program
plans for the future were discuss-
ed. Refreshments were served and
the meting dismissed with the
Brownie good by ceremony.
Mrs. Pat Richman and sons Put
und Phil were in Danbury Sunday
to attend n Homecoming at the
Church, and visit with friends. Pat
was made very happy by being
presented a sweater from the
school where he was u member of
the six-man football team. Pat is
playing with the Sharks this sea-
son.
