REV. DAN MCBRIDE, a humorist, singer and minister, will
speak at the annual Palacios FHA banquet on April 18 at 7 p.m.
Homemakers in
annual program
Un April 18, at 7 p.m., the
Palacios Chapter of Future
Homemakers of America will
hold their annual banquet.
This vear the Chapter will
have a special treat. Rev. Dan
McBride of Jacksonville, TX.
will be speaking. Mr. McBride
is a Humorist speaker, and
Minister. Mr. McBride has
composed more than 300
songs, and is an ordained
Baptist Minister. He is often
called, “the Will Rogers of the
religious world.”
Mr. McBride was educated
at Howard Pavne College in
Brownwood, Texas, and
Southwestern Baptist Theolog-
ical Seminary. He and his wife
Barbara, have two sons and
three daughters.
One comment made about
Mr. McBride was: Sometimes
ministers inject humor into
their sermons, but Dan
McBr iide has a ministry of
injecting sermonettes into his
humor. Add the guitar and you
have entertainment with pro-
fit; stated by Dr. John J. Hurt,
Editor, The Baptist Standard.
McBride's sermons are
based on the churchgoers. He
chides them in songs for
dozing in church, being stingy
when the collection plate
comes around, and listening
only for the sour notes when
the choir sings.
Mr. McBride's message will
be based on the theme of the
banquet, “Free to Be.”
Everyone should come out and
hear Rev. McBride as he
speaks. Don’t forget the time
or date; Tuesday, April 18th at
7:00 p.m. in the High School
Cafeteria.
