The visit of the Easter Rabbit
brought much pleasure to the mem-
bers <tf the Palacios 4-H Club,
Tuesday evening, March 24 at the
home of Mrs. R. D. Taylor.
After the club song, club creed,
•and club prayer, each member re
:speeded with an Easter poem. Rec
reation period included Stunts and
“Spin the Plate". The Easter Egg
bunt was a delight indeed.

onstration Agent and iMrs. D.
Rhambo, teacher of Hilliard High
School of Itay City, expressed high
hopes for each member.
The sponsor, Mrs. W. Oakes,
thanks the adult leaders for their
cooperation, especially Miss Winnie
Shannon, Mrs. Curry, and Mrs. R.
D. Taylor.

By virtue of authority vested in
.ne by the City Council of the City
of Palacios, Texas, I hereby call
an election to be held in the said
City of Palacios in the City Hall
on the first Tuesday of April, 1959,
the same being the 7th day there-
of, for the purpose of electing three
Vldermen for terms of two years
each.
The election shall be held under
the general laws of the State of
Texas providing for the election of
City Officers.
All persons qualified to vote un-
der the general laws of this state
and who are residents and citizens
of Palacios are qualified to vote at
this election.
Mrs. G. G. Hope is hereby ap-
pointed presiding judge of said
election.

Gives Performance
At Colored School
1 A quartet of handicapped child-
ren frffm Zion Industrial School,
Winona,i Miss., accompanied by
their superintendent, gave a recital
at the Palacios Colored School,
Tuesday, March 31 at 2:30 p.m.-
The numbers rendered were:

To The Lamb, I Hear Music In
The Air, God’s Going To Trouble
The Waters, and quite a few
Spirituals.
The purpose of the tour is to
secure means to help carry on the
work of this institution for handi-
capped and underprivileged child-
ren. The school made a liberal do-
nation, and also served sandwiches,
cookies, cheese wedges and punch.
The school thanks the parents who
assisted in the program.

Notice To Bidders
The City of Palacios, Texas, will
receive sealed bids until 5 p.m.
April 20, 1859, for the furnishing
of materials and labor to install an
airport lighting system at the Pa-
lacios Municipal Airport. Plans and
specifications of the work to be
performed may be seen at the office
of the City Secretary at the City
Hall in Palacios, Texas, between
the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Copies of said plans and speci/ica-
't’ioris maj-'te Withdrawn by posting
with the City Secretary a cash
deposit of Ten Dollars ($10.00).
All bids will be publicly opened
by the City Council of the City of
Palacios at the regular meeting of
said governing body to be held on
the 20th day of April, 1959, be-
ginning at 7:30 p.m.
The successful bidder will be
required to enter into a contract
with the City providing for the con-
struction of said improvements and
said contractor will be required to
conform to the ordinances of the
City of Palacios, Texas, and laws
of the State of Texas, pertaining to
Public Works Contracts.
The City of Palacios reserves
the right to reject any and all bids
submitted and to accept the bid
deemed most advantageous to the
City.

a Resolution passed by the City
Council of Palacios, Texas, on the
