Miss Najvar becomes
brideof W illiam Jones
Miss Vyra Louise Najvar
and William L, Jones ex-
changed double ring wedding
vows on Saturday, March 15,
at 1 o’clock in the afternoon
in a ceremony solemnized by
Rev. Brian Crookes in St.
Anthony’s Catholic Church.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr, and Mrs. Ivan Najvar of
Palacios. The bridegroom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liam Jones of Theodore, Ala-
bama.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a formal
gown of silk organza and hand
clipped imported rosepoinl
lace. A high neckline encircled
by trellised appliques of rose-
point lace etched with clusters
of seed pearls topped the fitted
bodice of the gown. Appliques
of rosepolnt lace, fully re-
embroidered with pearls en-
hanced the long sleeves and
lavished the controlled waist-
line where a flowing train
fell of silk organza which
held appliques of the lace and
pearls.
Her veil of imported illusion
fell from a crown of seeded
pearls and crystals to elbow
length.
Nylece Najvar of San Marcos,
sister of the bride, served as
maid of honor. Bridesmaids
were Diana Espinosa and Mary
Jean Ralph of Palacios. Flo-
wer girl was Lisa Stork of
Palacios.
The attendents wore floor
length gowns of blue floral
jersey. Each carried a bou-
quet of blue carnations.
Mrs. P. T. Sartwelle, or-
ganist, played traditional wed-
ding music.
For her daughter’s wedding
Mrs. Najvar chose aturquoise
and white floor length gown
with a white carnation cor-
sage.
Mrs. Jones wore a pink floor
length gown complimented by
a white carnation corsage.
James Hoots, of San Marcos
served as best man. Grooms-
men were Lawrence Porter
of Houston and Donnie Spring
of Kingsville. Keith Porter of
Houston served as ringbearer
and ushering was Edmund La-
tapie of Palacios.
Floral sprays of white gla-
dinlas and blue carnations
graced the wedding kneelers.
The reception followed in St.
Anthony’s Parish Hall with
Mrs. Hugh Wallis, Mrs.
George Kana, Mrs. Donald
Shimek, Stella Alamia, Alice
Morales, Donna Hunter, Bren-

"Grandmother Baird
always taught us
to take personal
responsibility for
the quality of our
product. And to
this day, the people
responsible for Mrs Baird's Bread
are Bairds. Our goal, like our
Grandmother's goal, is the best bread
we can bake."
