CLUB NEWS
By Publicity Committee)
The Pacesetters Toastmistress
Club held its October meeting on
Monday, October 12, at El Chico’s
Restaurant at Preston Royal with
Mrs. Dorothy Hume, president,
conducting the meeting.
Officers of the newly organzied
club include the following besides
Mrs. Hume: Mrs. Robert G. Mc-
Cord, first vice-president; Mrs.
Kenneth Wheelock, second vice-
president; Mrs. Sarah Inghram,
secretary; Mrs. R. H. Perry, treas-
urer; and Mrs. Roy Chambers,
club representative.
The next meeting will be held at
the restaurant Monday, Nov. 2.
This is the only day-time toast-
mistress club in Dallas and char-
ter membership is still open. Per-
sons interested in becoming mem-
bers are asked to call FL 2-3861
or FL 2-9471.

Xi-Zefa Tau met October 13 in
the home of Ann Hoeifle, Marilyn
Allison, Edith McNulty and Pat
Barnhart attended the work-
shop for all Beta Sigma Phi’s and
■they reported that it was well
worth attending.
Pauline Dennis gave a very in-
teresting program on Oklahoma,
New Mexico and Arizona with
group participation.
After some good refreshments
the social committeee announced
that we would have a luncheon
October 17, at the La Tunisia Res-
taurant.

Thursday evening, October 8,
Lambda Rho Chapter held a get-
acquainted dessert at the home of
Lanell Buchanan.
Guests included Beverly Nelson,
Diane Dennie and Jan Lawson.
Thirteen members and guests were
served delicious refreshments.
The chapter met Monday, Octo-
ber 12, in the home of Linda
Cooper. This was the fall Model
Meeting with 14 .members and
guest, Jan Lawson, Beverly Nelson
and Diane Dennie, present.
Two rush socials were an-
held Thursday, October 22, and a
held Thursday, October22, and a
scavenger hunt and chili party to
be held October 24.
Plans were discussed for Lamb-
da Rho’s part in next spring’s
State Convention to be held in
Dallas. It was announced that a
special meeting with two other
chapters would be held Wednes-
day evening, October 14.
The program "Introductions and
invitations’’ was presented by Ra-
mona Napier.
A cake decorated with this
year’s theme of Beta Sigma Phi
“Invitation to Lift” was served by
the co-hostess, Kathrine Tait.

Tau Kappa met October 13 in
the home of Mary Arnold.
After the committees reported
the members voted to invite Wan-
da Taylor, Beverly Keathley and
Beverly Vaden to join the chapter.
The ritual wlil be held at the
next meeting.
An interesting cultural program
was led by program chairman,
Marcelle Stroehmer.
The next meeting will be Octo-
ber 27 in the home of Ann Thomp-
son. The hostess also had the cul-
tural program.

GARDEN CLUB NEWS

The Carrollton Garden Club met
Saturday, October 17, at Arnolds
on Preston Road with 18 mem-
bers presented.
After coffee the club enjoyed a
program on “Christmas Decora-
tions” incuding the making of
of angels from styrofoam and
plaster of Paris gauge, a Christ-
mas tree, wreath, and kissing
ball.
Following the program the club
ate lunch at Youngsbloods on
Preston and Forest. Mrs. Kirkham
made chocolate cake and cookies
for dessert.
Guests present were Mrs. Nita
Talley, Mrs. Willie Roberts, Mrs.
Robert E. Turner and Suzanne
Thomas.
The next meeting will be at the
Dallas County State Bank.

JAYCEE-ETTE NEWS

The Carrollton Jaycee-Ettes met
October 11. Marian Smith, lec-
turer, was the guest speaker. Her
talk was on “Charm in a Capsule.”
The organization will hold bake
sales Saturday, October 31, in both
Valwood Shopping Village and
Carrollton Highlands Shopping
Center.

the church at the lunchroom of the Vivian Field School.
An area Gospel Singing will be at 3:00 in the afternoon. Time of
services: Friday and Saturday nights 8:00 P.M.; Sunday; 10:30 A.M.;
and at 7:00 P.M.
