enjoyed in the home of M r. and
Mrs. Alfred Johnson last Sun-
day when a number of relatives
gathered to'.observe the birthdays
of Mrs. Johnson and son, Jack,
whose birthday come on the same
date. Mrs. Johnson celebrating
her 51st and Jack his 21st birth-
day. Those present were Will

Johnson and family of Addison,
Miss Zell Johnson of Dallas,
W. F. Vinson and family and
Mrs. J. D. Morrison.

rollton, that I am wholly respon
sible for placing the natneof Mrs.
Allen before the mass meeting
for alderman. May I also say,
while my own name was put be-
fore the same meeting for the
same office, I positively will not
stand for election, and if the
people were to give me the office
I would at once give it back to
them. I do wish, however, that
the city would open a way for me
to get to my barn with a load of

The Hustlers Union ol the
Methodist church of Carrollton
met with the other Unions of the
McKinney district at Fannie
Harrington chapel Tuesday night.
Eleven members of this Union
made the trip. Carrollton Union
has held the attendance banner
for some time but at this meet-
ing the Vickery Union were the
winners.
Noble Drug Store Sold
Henry Noble has sold his drug
business to Mr. T. M. Green-
wood of Farmersville, Texas,
sale being made and posession
given Monday of this week. Mr.
Greenwood, it is stated, has been
in the drug business in his home
town of Farmersville for some
twenty years as an associate
with a brother. This business
he has sold to another brother to
launch here on his own respon-
sibility. He is a registered phar
raacist which will be of great
value to him and increase the
efficiency of the store. M r.
Greenwood will m< ve here with
his family to make his home; he
has a wife and one daughter
about eight years of age.
Mr. Noble bot the East Side
Pharmacy about fourteen months
ago from the receiver who had it
in charge and has built a nice
business. As he is employed by
Uncle Sam in the mail service,
being carrier on Route No. 1, we
expect he will continue to reside
here and be a citizen of the
town

which many amusing games and
stunts were enjoyed. Everyone
left praising Mrs. Jackson as an
ideal hostess and hoping that
there will be many more such

The Ladies Missionary Society
of the Methodist church gave a
miscellaneous shower March 12,
honoring Mrs. H. L. Watters,
who was formerly Miss Frances
Kirkse.v, at the home of Mrs. 0.
A. Miller. A St. Patrick contest
was one of the enjoyments of the
evening, the prize being won by
Mrs. Watters and it was an im.

with beautiful and useful gifts.
