riage by Rev. Thomas A. Sorensen
in a double ring ceremony Mon-
day evening, January 24, at Holy
Cross Lutheran Church,
Parents of the couple are Mr.
and Mrs. G. M. Lewis and Mr, and
Mrs. A. M. Hyde, all of Farmers
Branch.
The bride wore a gown of can-
dlelight silk peau de soie en-
crusted with Alencon lace and seed
ptearls, designed with an empire

Miss Deborah Bell, niece of the
bride, and Jody Oren served the
couple as maid of honor and best
man. Other attendants included
Miss Beverly Kruse and Miss Lee
Ann Kirby, bridesmaids; Miss Terry
Hyde, junior bridesmaid; Cindy
Martsolf. flower girl; and Phillip
Bell, ringbearer. Groomsmen were
Allan Martsoff of Weatherford;
Jack Logston of Guthrie, Okla.,
and James C. Lewis.
The guests were seated by Royce
Massingill, Greig Nash, and Billy
Witt. Tony Zackary served as can-
dlelighter. Organist was Arnold
Schuler and Mrs. J. B. Speirs sang
"I Love Thee" and “The Lord's
Prayer.”
At the reception in the church
parlors. Miss Janet King presided
at the guest book: and punch and
cake were served by Mrs. R. W.
Bell, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Zackary.
Former graduates of R. L. Turner
High School, the bride and groom
returned to Weatherford, Okla.
where they attend Southwestern
State College.

NEWS

Tau Alpha Chapter met Wed-
nesday in the home of their presi-
dent, Tahnell Vogt. Nine members
were present.
The program entitled "The
Garden” from the book "Beauty"
was presented by Betty Phillips
and Coralene Cooper. Mombers
learned the value of a garden in
human experience.
Future service projects were
discussed in the business meeting.
Tau Alpha Chapter is in the
process of making plans for a rush
St. Patrick’s Dance on March 19.
Continued plans of the Irving City
Council Valentine Dance, Febru-
ary 12, are being worked on.
The hostess, Mrs. Vogt, closed
the meeting with delicious re-
freshments using the theme of
Valentine Day.

Members of Tau Kappa Chapter
met in the home of Mrs. Darrell
Keathley January 25. Mrs. Jim
Stroehmer, vice-president, pre-
sided at the meeting.
Details for a dinner party on
January 29 were given by the so-
cial chairman, Mrs. Bill Vaden.
She also announced tentative plans
for a February social with Lambda
Rho Chapter.
Mrs. Keathley, Ways and Means
chair man, announced the commit-
tees for the spring style show.
Proceeds from the show will be
used for a local service project.
Mrs. Bill Williamson, who is in
charge of service projects for the
year, will present information on
several projects being considered
at the next meeting.
“Let’s Talk on the Radio and
over Television” was the program
given by Mrs. Don Carlson. Mrs
Max Kelly, 2923 Silverton, will be
the hostess for the February 8
meeting and Mrs. Coy Brown will
give the program.

Lambda Rho Chapter held its
annual Christmas party on Decem-
ber 13 in the home of Mrs. Eugene
Cooper. Our guest was tranferee,
Mrs. Suzanne Ames. Mrs. Sherry
Vineyard was welcomed into the
chapter as a new member.
Mrs. M. W. Trowell presented a
very interesting program on “Our
Own Home.” The members ex-
changed gifts and learned the
identity of the Phi Pals for the
previous year. While enjoying re-
freshments the members partici-
pated in an auction of Christmas
items they donated for a Ways and
Means project. Phi Pals for the
coming year were selected.

year in the home of Mrs. Trowell.
Mrs. Charles Erickson reported on
the Christmas project of giving
gifts to the Detention Home.
Mrs. Erickson gave the program
“Connoisseur" followed by dis-
cussion and refreshments.
A weiner roast was held at
North Lake on January 15 with
eight members, (heir husbands
and dates present. Guests were
Mr, and Mrs. Hugo Elmore. Those
present went to the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Jim Sherman for the re-
mainder of the evening.

Ways and Means Committee re-
ported to the chapter on its cur-
rent project at the January 25
meeting held in the home of Mrs.
David Varner. The chapter is to
have a game party on February 19
at the Farmers Branch Community
Hall. Mrs. Varner and Mrs. Erick-
son will make arrangements for
those wishing to attend.
Guests for the evening were Mrs.
Ames and Mrs. Jerry Burr. Mrs.
Jim Sherman presented a very
interesting program "The Gar-
den.” Mrs. John Buchanan pre-
sented a short talk on “The Art of
Dress.”
