New Shoe Store Opens Its Doors Friday
To Farmers Branch and Carrollton Area
The Shoe Box, owned and op-
erated by Western Shoe Do., will
hold its Grand Opening Friday,
August 14, at 9:00 a.m. at 128
Valwood Shopping Village.
Bill Williams, youthful presi-
dent cf Western Shoe Co., stated
yesterday that after a careful sur-
vey of the Greater Dallas Metro-
politan area, the Farmers Branch-
Carrollton area was chosen as the
ideal place to open the first of
several stores to be opened in the
Dallas area.
“We feel that the people of the
Farmers Branch-Carrollton area
will support a better grade family
shoe operation. We will feature
leading brands in all categories
and stress expert fitting with a
fashion look,’’ said Williams.
The Shoe Box, custom designed
in walnut paneling with turquoise
trim, is easy on the eye. Its inter-
ior displays lend themselves to
easy self selection and invite the
casual suburban shopper.
Leroy Priest To Manage
Western Shoe Co. announced to
day the appointment of Leroy
(Pete) Priest to manage its new
Farmers Branch store, The Shoe
Box.
Pete, a youthful veteran of the
family shoe store field has sev-
eral years experience in fitting
shoes. In addition he went through
an intensive eight-week training
program in 1£58 that covered all
aspects of fitting and sh'oe con-
struction.
Priest, a native of Northeast
Oklahoma, comes to Farmers
Branch from Fort Worth where
he has been managing a store for
the past four years.
He is married to the former
Jean Hamilton of Oklahoma and
they have one child, Pete, Jr. The
family has already moved to
Farmers Branch and Pete is quite
anxious to meet and get to know
the people of the area.
