Q—If I enter the armed
forces some time before the end
of January, 1955, will I be en-
titled to a GI loan when I get
out—even though Korea vet-
erans' benefit entitlements come
to an end Jan. 31, 19557
A—Yes, provided you receive
a separation under other-than-
dishonorable conditions and
spend at least 90 days on active
duty, unless you are discharged
sooner for a line-of-duty disa-
bility.
Q—Does the President’s proc-
lamation, ending Korean GI
benefit entitlements on January
31, have any bearing on when
a Korea veteran has to start
training under the Korean GI
Bill?
A—Under the law, a veteran
still must begin Korean GI Bill
training within three years fol-
lowing his separation from the
j armed forces. The President’s
i proclamation did not change
that provision.
When the liberty Bell crack-
ed in 1835 it was tolling for the
death of John Marshall.

President, American Bankers Association
Like millions of otheb
Americans, you probably
know that our government’*
Series G Savings Bonds rank
among the surest, safest and
Lest investments in the world.
But I wonder if you realize
that an extremely attractive
feature has been added.
You can now hold diem for as long as
19 years, 8 months and U. S. Series E
Savings Bonds will return you a total
yield of 80% on your investment!
So, If you can possibly arrange it, hold
your Bonds for the maximum period—
19 yean, 8 months.
And, of course, go on investing in U. S.
Series E Savings Bonds regularly.

If you invested $3730 in a Savings Bond
ten years ago, it could he redeemed for
$50 DO today. You would make $12.50.
But if you keep dial Bond for ten more
yeans, you will make a total of $29.84
on your original investment. In other
words, if you hold your Bonds for double
their original period, your total yield is
considerably more than just double.
There’s no finer investment an Amer-
ican can make.
Ij you want your interest as current in-
come, ask your banker about 3% Series
H bonds which pay interest semiannu-
ally by Treasury check.
Now even better!
Invest more in Savings Bonds!
