BOMBERS WIN
IN TURKEY
BOWL, 25-7
The Farmers Branch Bombers
added another scalp to their belt
and a trophy to their record room
as they won another battle of
champions by trouncing the Hous-
ton-Variety Club in the Pee Wee
Turkey Bowl Friday night, No-
vember 24, at Mesquite, 25-7.
Harry Terry put on a real show
for the crowd of over 2000 as he
.scored all of the Bomber points on
runs of 47, 35, 24 and 2 yards.
James Mayfield put pressure on
the Houston defensive unit as he
completed eight passes for 124
yards and ran his string to 21
completions in the last 36 at-
tempts. Ryan and Hill accounted
for seven out of eight comple-
tions.
Again, it was the rugged Bomb-
er offensive line of Scott, Wool-
ridge, Young, Turner and Gil-
breath that dominated the game.
Key blocks by ends Hodge and
Ryan gave Terry running room on
two of his TD’s.
Terry, Hill, Woolridge and Ryan
were the defensive standouts that
saw the Bombers hold the 14-year
old group scoreless until the last
15-seconds of the game.
This runs the Bomber victory
string to 29 straight and gives
Harry Terry 42 touchdowns in the 1
last 14 games
The Bombers have four games
remaining in their post season
battle of champ.ons. Their last
home game saw the Bombers
face an out of state opponent in a
Pop Warner game at Carrollton
December 2. The Bombers travel
to Houston to take on a 14-year
old group Decerriber 9; and face
the 14-year old champions of
Louisiana in Shreveport Decem-
ber 16.
The season draws to a close De-
cember 29 when the Bombers take
or. the West Coast champions in
a Pop Warner Bowl at Los Ange-
les.
