ANSWERS
Compiled by Veterans
Administration, Dallas, Texas
Q—I am a World War n vet-
eran and I live in a house 1
bought with a GI loan. If I were
forced to dispose of it after July
25, 1958, for some compelling
reason such as health or transfer,
could I get my GI entitlement re-
instated?
A—Yes, so long as VA would
be relieved of its guaranty liabili-
ty. You then would be eligible
for another GI loan until Janu-
ary 31, 1965, even though the
World War II GI loan deadline
would have passed.
Q—I am the father of a de-
ceased World War II veteran, re-
ceiving monthly payments under
the Survivor Benefits law. In com
puting my annual income to de-
termine whether I will remain
eligible for the payments, do I in-
clude just my net take-home pay
or my gross wages including vari-
ous deductions? I have a small
part-time job.
A—You must include your gross
salary, including money deducted
for such items as taxes and retire-
ment.
Q—Are State veterans' bonuses
considered income for VA pen-
sion purposes?
A—No. Bonuses or similar cash
gratuities paid by State for serv-
ice in the Armed Forces are not

CHURCH NEWS
By Church Reporter
The monthly meeting of the
ULCW was held on Tuesday, Janu-
ary 28, at the home of Mrs. Lo-
rene Blum with seven members
and one visitor present. A very in-
teresting and enlightening pro-
gram was presented by Mrs. Ethel
Kammerer, program chairman, on
Lutheran Women’s Work, the offi-
cial magazine of the organization.
Our members decided that this
magazine would be helpful to us
and Mrs. Kammeier agreed to
handle subscriptions.
A business meeting followed at
which time the ULCW agreed to
take over the cleaning of the
church hall and also the necessary
arrangements for nursery facili-
ties. Several items were discussed
by Pastor Moyer after which he
closed the meeting with a prayer.
Refreshments were then served
by the hostess.
The next meeting of ULCW will
be held on Tuesday, February 25,
at the home of Mrs. Pauline De-
May.
