ELM FORK
TOASTMASTERS CLUB
(By The Club Reporter)
The weekly meeting of the Elm
Fork Toastmasters Club ended
with a good program on July 7.
The club was honored with two
guests, Danny Nash and George
Anderwald. Toastmaster Roger
Brown was presented with a past
president plaque. There were 14
-members present.
Toastmaster 3 Roy Beaver, Willis
Butler and Bell Rattan were the
speakers for the evening with
Butler winning Best Speaker
award on the toss with Rattan.
Toastmaster Dick McIntyre
won Best Critic award on his eval-
uation of Beaver.
The Toastmasters Club meets
each Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Val
wood Bowling Lanes Club room.

PATRICK AFB, Fla —Dalhsite
Betty J. Wilson, a USAF (MC) Cap-
tain, was a member of the Patrick
AFB, Fla., womens howling team
that placed third in the Air Force
Systems Command tourney at
Kirtiand AFB, N. Mex., recently.
Caipt. Wilson and her .partner,
Capt. Becky Jordan, also placed
second in the meet’s WAF Doubles
event. They had a total pinfall of
952 for the three game series of
the event.
Many local people will recall
that when Capt. Wilson entered
the Air Force in March 3 ?M52, she
wias the first Dallasite to gr-*dua-te
from the School cf An’s‘ih°3;a at
Baylor University Hom’tal to be
commissioned in the USAF. There
was much attention given to this
by the newspapers, raido and TV.
The captain’s first assignment
was the 801 s-t Medical Group
at Lockbourne AFB, Ohio.
In February this year she was
transferred to the 6550th USAF
Hospital at Patrick AFB, the sup-
port base for Air Force Eastern
Test Range, including Cape Ken-
nedy AFS, just 15 miles away.
During her current tour of duty,
Capt. Wilson expects to serve in
a new, modern 75 bed hospital
now under construction at Patrick
AFB and slated for completion
within the next 12 months.
Besides her interest in bowling,
Ca-pt. Wilson is interested in many
other sports as hobbies, including
fishing, golf, swimming tennis and

Youth Week Set
At Royal Haven
The youth of Royal Haven Bap-
tist Ohuroh will be observing
Youth Week, July 19-26. During
the week the youth will have an
opportunity to learn by doing.
They will be serving in pLaces of
leadership throughout the church.
A steering committee composed
of Bob Colton, Dick Baker, John
Wade, Bonnie Snider, Jackie
Brown, Cheryl Petty, Weldon Mor-
row, Mrs. G. C. Atta-wia-y and Mrs.
Ray Holmes met and planned the
special activities for the week.
The youth will retreat to Lake
Lavon Baptist Encampment Friday
evening for a good time of fellow-
ship and inspiration, returning
late Saturday afternoon.
A youth-lead revival will cli-
max the week’s -activities. The
services will be at 7:45 Friday and
Saturday nights with the final
service during the regular worship
time, 7:15 Sunday night.
Other varied activities have
been planned for the week, for all
the youth at Royal Haven Baptist.

-Carrollton High School and at-
tended Our Lady of the Lake Col-
lege, San Antonio, before taking
her anesithethist training at Bay-
lor University Hospital.
She is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Roy S. Wilson, Route 6,
Dallas.
