liams have completed basic train-
ing at Lackland AFB. Texas.
Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Elmer L. Williams of 2625 Brandy-
wine Drive. Farmers Branch, has
been assigned to the Air Force
Technical Training Center at
Sheppard AFB, Texas, for special-
ized school as an aircraft mainte-
nance specialist. A 1966 graduate
of R. L. Turner High School, he at-
tended North Texas State Univer-
sity.
Paynter. son of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter E. Paynter of 3316 Pine
Tree Circle, Farmers Branch, is
now assigned as a food service
specialist with a unit of the Stra-
tegic Air Command at March AFB.
Calif. He is a 1967 graduate of
Mission San Jose High School Fre-
mont, Calif.
FIVE DALLAS AREA home furnishings dealers were among a
select group of dealers who toured the Sequoyah Carpet Mills
plants in Anadarko, Okla., and Sequoyah Furniture Mfg. Co. plant
at Elk City. Shown following their special flight from Dallas are
(L-R): Lawrence Harmon, Irving Floor, Charles Maloney, Floor
Mart, Bill Pike, Casaview Carpet, Church Purcell, president of Se-
quoyah Mills, Hugh Pender, House of Carpets, Larry Matthews,
House of Carpets, and Jim Peace. At the plants the dealers follow-
ed the manufacturing process of carpets and bedroom furniture.
They also inspected upholstered furniture being (manufactured. Don
Greve, Sequoyah board chairman, said dealers are picked for plant
tours due to their leadership in the home furnishings retail field.
Pender, who lives in Farmers Branch and is well known here, was
manager of a leading Dallas carpet firm for over 9l/j years.

Empt”, will be on hand to auto-
graph his new book.

Club will have a Christmas party
Friday. December 1. at Brookhaven
Country Club. Registration will he
at 11:30. There will be no business
meeting.
Before lunch is served the R.
L. Turner Chorus will sing. Santa
Claus will be there, too. with a
bag of gifts to be distributed.

To Clinton AFB
BURNS FLAT, Okla. — Alajor
James E. Rose. Jr., son of Mr. and
Mrs. James E. Rose, Sr., of 2937
Sinbad Circle, Farmers Branch,
has arrived for duty at Clinton-
Sberman AFB, Okla.
Major Rose, a KC-135 Strato-
tanker pilot, is assigned to a unit
of the Strategic Air Command.
The major, who previously
served at Binh Thuy AB, Thailand,
is a veteran of the Korean War
and has completed a tour of duty
in Vietnam.
A graduate of Sunset High
School, he received his BS degree
in wildlife management from
Texas A&M College, where he was
commissioned in 1951 upon com-
pletion of the Air Force Reserve
Officers Training Corps pro^fe.
His wife, Norma, is the dawBer
of Airs. J. S. Oberman of 2908
Cadillac Drive, Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Mrs. Rose's father, J. Roland A.a-
