Sealed proposals addresse to the
President of the Addison Independent
School District, Addison, Texas, for
furnishing all materials, machinery,
I equipment, superintendence and labor
; necessary for the construction of altera-
j tions to the School Building, located at
j Addison, Texas, all in accordance with
the Plans, Specifications and Instructions
1 to Bidders adopted by the School Board
| will be received at the office of the
Secretary of Addison Independent School
District, Addison, Texas, until 5:00 p.m.
| April 2,1941 and ther publicly opened
and read.
The successful bidder will be required
to enter into a contract with the School
Board.
A Cashier’s Check, payable without
recourse to the order of the Addison In-
dependent School District Addison,
Texas, or a bidder’s bond, in an
amount not less than five per cent (5%)
of the largest possible total bid, must
accompany each bid as a guarantee that,
I if awarded the contract, the bidder will
promptly enter into a contract and exe-
cute a bond on the forms provided, as
j outlined in the Specifications and Con-
tract Documents.

ness in stating prices in the proposal,
the School Board reserves the right to
adopt the most advantageous construc-
tion thereof, or to reject the proposal.
Labor Preference And Wage
Rates: For Labor By Owner Or
Contractor:
Preference shall be given, where they
are qualified, in the following order:
(a) Bona fide resident of the County
of Dallas, Texas
(b) Bona fide resident of the State of
Texas, and
(c) Citizens of the United States.
Provided that these preferences shall
apply only where such qualified labor is
available to perform the work to which
*he employment rentes.
All employees directly employed on
the work by the Owner or Contractor
shall be paid the prevailing wage scale
for work of a similar character, in the i
locality; and in no event less than the I
following minimum rates per hour:

reject any and all bids.
Forms of proposal, plans and specifi-
cations may be obtained at the offices of
the Architect, 104 Thomas Building,
Dallas, Texas, upon the deposit of ten
dollars, which sum will be refunded, pro-
vided the following conditions are conw
plied with:
(1) If no proposal will be submitted
the proposal, plans and specifications
must be returned not less than 48 hours
prior to the time of receiving proposals,
or
(2) If proposal is submitted—the plana
and specifications must be returned with-
in five (5) calender days after time o^
receiving proposal; otherwise, the sum of
ten dollars shall remain the property of
the Architect and School Board.
Envelopes must be marked “Bid for
Construction of Alteration to and Addi-
tion to the Addison School Building.”
