Officers of the North Texas
Square Dance Association and the
State Federation of Square and
Round Dancers took part in the
4th Annual North Texas Square
Dance Association Roundup in
Fort Worth on October SI.
Members of the local Dixie
Chainers attending the Roundup
included George and Edythe Rog-
ers, president, and Melvin and
JoAnn Sample, treasurer of the
association, and Roy and Lee Long,
general chairman for the national
convention.
The Dixie Chainers, in prepara-
tion for the convention, are start-
ing a new set of 12 square dance
lessons beginning January 19. The
lessons will be held in the Ameri-
can Legion Hall in Carrollton
every Tuesday night at 7:30. The
caller is C. 0. Guest, who is a
member of the North Texas Call-
ers Association and nationally-
known recording artist. These les-
sons are for beginners, those who
have never square danced before.
If anyone desires further in-
formation on the lessons or square
dancing in general, contact Dee
and Lois Loyd, CH 7-8871; or Virg
and Dolores Schleif, CO 0-2848.

assumed the presidency. The two
bankers also own jointly controll-
ing interest in the Hillside Nation-
al Bank of Dallas where Mr. Hens-
ley is the president.
Simultanously with the an-
nouncenment of the Carrollton
bank dividend, Hensley announced
a 60c per share dividend on the
30,000 outstanding shares of the
18-month-old Hillside Bank.
Both men, former joint owners
in other Texas banks, have now
concentrated their holdings in
Dallas County and have — with
their families — established per-
manent residents here.
Hikes Interest Rate
Beginning January 1, 1965, sav-
ing account customers of the
Dallas County State Bank of Car-
rollton will enjoy an interest rate
increase to 4%, compounded quar-
terly, according to Mr. King.
In announcing the new high rate
cf interest, Mr. King commented
that this move reflects the de-
termination to insure citizens of
Carrollton and Farmers Branch of
having at-home banking advant-
ages comparable with the best to
be had.
