Bowie to Display County Farm Prod-
ucts Abroad.
Bowie, Tex., June 15.—The Cham-
ber of Commerce of. this city has
adopted a uique plan to build up
an exhibit of farm products of this
county, to be displayed both at home
and abroad, and has offered prizes
for the best speciments offered in
competition.
The leading products and prizes
offered, were as follows:
Corn, ten ears, white—:100 lbs.
of sugar.
Oats, one sheaf, $5.00 pair trous-
ers. 1 v ^
Wheat, one sheaf, $4.00 pair
shoes.
Cabbage, one head, $1.00 in mer-
chandise.
Cucumbers, six $1.00 in merchan-
dise.
Onions, six, $1.00 in merchandise.
Melons, one, $1.00 in merchandise.
Berries, quart, $1.50 in merchan-
dise. ,
Cotton, stalk, $4.00 set of dishes.
Commercial Club to Secure News-
paper For Town.
Trent, Tex., June 17.—-The Com-
mercial Club of Trent, which was
organized recently, states that the
first effort of the club will be to
secure a newspaper for this city.
All the members are in favor of the
plan, and have signified their in-
tention of taking stock In the ven-
ture, realizing that it is necessary to
have a good publicity outlet in or-
der to promote the advantages of
the city.
