Notes from "Single Senior on
the Road:" For the record,
which your writer feels tops any
of her previous experiences, 400
miles of travel from Corpus
Christie to Brownsville, and
back to Palacios were done in a
head wind. Thirty-five to forty-
five miles an hour was the best
speed achieved. My four-cylin-
der Toyota RV is perfect in every
respect except in a prolonged
head wind. Although die vehicle
threatened to quit entirely on oc-
casion, It didn't do so. To me, it
is still the best!

amount is what most participants
donate. This was raised from an
original 25 cents by the partici-
pants! The fact that that center is
under the Aransas County
Council on Aging (with the
probability of more Binding than
we believe) makes it possible for
them to have this low donation.
Ours, here in Palacios, is 75
cents-with most donating a dol-
lar.
The Center has a variety of
crafts at low after-Christmas
prices. A good time to pick up
future gifts or something for
yourself. Come see our collec-
tion of Avon old time glass cars.
