Quite a number of the Jacks-
boro citizens during the past week
have been supplying themselves
with cisterns. They can be dug
at a very moderate cost, and if
there is no rain, cam be filled with
water from the creek, which in a
few days is as cold as the best of
well water.
Elsewhere will be found a com-
munication from IT. P. Jones to a
party in Grainger county, Tenn.,
also a statement from citizens of
the same county regarding Prof.
Wester. Mr. Wester was una-
ware of any - such report until
Tuesday morning, when Prof.
King carried his mail to him, when
the communications referred to
were a part of it. They speak for
themselves. The citizens of this
place have been aware for some-
time that a person or persons
have been working against the
school at this place, by misrepre-
sentations, and endeavoring to dis-
suade parties from locating here.
It is to be hoped that the names
of the guilty parties will be fer-
reted out, so that the people may
know who it is that is working
against the best interests of this
county.
