FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE APPRE-
HENSION AND FINAL CONVICTION OF ANY PER-
SON.OR PERSONS PUTTING OUT DOG POISON IN
ANY FORM WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF COLE-
MAN, TEXAS.
Your Child is in Danger!
Here Are The Facts: --
Within the past few months considerable strychnine has been thrown
out in the City of Coleman, presumably for the purpose of poisoning
dogs. In any event, jnany dogs and cats, strays, kept up pets and other-
wise, have died BUT of more importance is the fact that the lives of our
children are being endangered *
For the most part the poison has been placed in weiners. The weiners are
then thrown into front yards, over fences into back yards; and along
the sides of, the streets and highways.
There has already been one report of an instance in South Colema»i
where a small child picked up one of the weiners, but before he could eat
it, his dog grabbed it out of his hand The dog died a violent death a
few minutes later. Strychnine kills quickly. Except for the hand of
Providence, the child might have eaten the weiner.
The foregoing might happen to your child. Check your yards care-
fully each morning and report any findings to the Police.
It is our belief that the poison is being thrown at night from cars.
YOU must co-operate with your police officials if this great danger is
to be removed from our city. If you observe any suspicious or definite
action of this nature, take the car number and try to recognize the
driver or other persons, and call police officials immediately. The alert
eyes of Coleman's many citiizens can be of great assistance at this time.
LET'S STOP THIS POISONING BEFORE A CHILD IS KILLED YOUR
COOPERATION IS URGENTLY REQUESTED
