ceremony. The bridal party group-

bracelet length and full. The full
skirt fell in a pencil silhouette.
She wore a small off-the-face hat
at turquoise blue feathers with a
Jabot brown lace veil in the back.
Her ensemble was completed by
matching accessories and a corsage
of white orchids. Miss Martha
Harris, who served as bridesmaid,
was gowned in antique gold crepe,
her costume being styled with
bracelet length sleeves and a drap-
ed skirt with amber button trim.
She wore a bouquet of, bronze chry-

trip, Mr. and Mrs. Rockwell will be
temporarily located In Amarillo.
Mrs. N. B. Bount Of Washington,
D.i C., aunt of the bride, was a
guest for the wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. John Hammer
mann, Jr, entertained with a buf-
fet supper Friday night, following
the rehearsal for the wedding.
White chrysanthemums in a crystal
bowl centered the table, which was
lighted by white tapers in crystal
candelabra. Mrs. Abbott assisted In
serving. Yellow chrysanthemums
decorated the living room.
Mrs. J. E. Bartlett and mother
acted as his brother’s best man. Mrs. McDaniel of Santa Anna,
Mrs. Abbott, mother of the bride, were shoppers in Coleman Tuesday
wore a black crepe gown with gold afternoon.

Nuptials Set For
December 21st
To announce the approaching
marriage of their daughter, Norma
Gray to Lieyhenant Everett Selden
Simson, son of Colonel and Mrs.
E. A. Simpson of Amarillo, Cap-
tain and Mrs. Pat R. Warren held
open house Saturday evening from
seven to ten o'clock at the Taylor
Tea Room. The wedding Is set for
Sunday, December twenty-first, and
will be held at Camp Bowie, 142nd
Infantry chapel.
Mr. and Mrs. John Warren and
Mr. and Mrs. Don Sawyers alter-
nated In greeting guests at the
entrance. Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Tay-
lor presided in the library. In the
receiving line were Captain and

turkeys, complimented a group of U., Colone, and Mre *

Wednesday evening.
A white theme was featured in
the dining room with" an arrange-
ment of white chrysanthemums
centering the table. Similar ar-
rangements of various colors deco-
rated other rooms.
Dinner was served buffet style
and contract was played during the
evening. Guests were Messrs, and
Mmes A. H. Golden, Luke Lair,
Virgil Bumes, Burl Strickland of
Coleman, and Karl Bunies of Win-
ters.
First Baptist Church
To Have Golden
Deed Banquet
On the evening of Thursday, De-
cember fourth, at the educational
building, members of the First
Baptist Church will hold a “Gol-
den Deed Banquet,” when all
church officers and teachers will be
special guests. Speaker for the
evening Will be Dr. C. E. Matthews
of Fort Worth. Special music will
be given by the Golden Girls Quar-
tet, from Hardln-8immons Univer-
sity.. Floyd Chaffin, pastor, states
that he expects 150 to 250 to at-
tend.
Committees that have been nam-
ed to make arrangements for the
banquet are as follows: Menu, Mrs.
Jack Gordon, Mrs. A. L. Anthony
and Mrs. Jimmie Lankford; Deco-
ration, Mesdames W. W. Gober,

and WAS tapers, flanked by vases
of white mums. Presiding over the
punch bowls at either end of the
table at intervals during the eve-

CULTURE CLUB MEETING.
Bransford Eubanks, who spent
several years as a Presbyterian
Evangelist In China, was guest
speaker at a meeting of the Self
Culture Club Friday afternoon at
the library. Mrs. Theo Dunman was
In charge of the program and In-
troduced Mr. Eubanks. In his talk
Mr. Eubanks used a chart of the
Chinese characters, explaining the
language and some of the customs
Present were club members and
the following visitors: Mesdames
Jerry Harbour, Mre. Eubanks,
C. W. Hemphill, Silas Ballard, Rus-
sell Bell of San Antonio, Miss Mor-
gan or Ballinger, Miss Ann Haun
and Miss Maxine Stayton.
