The recent rains have been very

stock and leased two of his places
to John Skelton, Jr., Jark Skelton
has the other place leased Mr
Sanders has retired from the ranch-
ing business on account of his
health,
Leo Peeler, student at Howard
Payne college at Brownwood, spent
the weekend here with home folks
Gene White went to Port Worth
last week, where he Is now em-
ployed. Mrs Whitehead and chil-
dren plan to join him there this
weekend
Mrs, J. G McKnlght of San An-
gelo Is spending this week with her
daughter, Mrs Owen Pyburn an'd
son, Waylon, while Mr. Pyburn is
hunting.
Waylon Pyburn, who was confin-
ed to tht^bed about six months with
rheumatic fever is much improved
now and has been sitting up some
for the past three weeks and Is now
walking a bit each day We hope
he will be fully recovered soon.
Mr and Mrs J C. Pepper and
children of Freer spent the weekend
here with Mrs Pepper's mother,
Mrs Mathilda Newton antj sister.
Mrs Jack Skelton and family.
Mrs. N. D. Van Dnlsem Jr, and
children of Coleman rural, spent
from Saturday night until Monday
afternoon here with her mother.

sages. We are going to have ser-
vices the 2nd and 4th Saturday

Work Discussed
At Meeting Friday
The board of directors of the
Coleman Girl Scouts met Friday,
November 8th at the home of Mrs
Charles R. Wllkon. Those attending
the meeting were: Mrs J, C. Young,
Mrs Carl Fleming, Mrs W H
McDowell, and Mr. Jimmy Marsh-
all and Mrs. J. T. Saunders. The
new area plan for supervised work
wax discussed, and Mr. Charles R
Wilson and Mrs. Carl Fleming were
appointed to serve on the Area
Board with Mj. and Mrs, Dudley j
Boyer as alternates.
Mr. Marshall gave his report on j
the Girl Scout Drive Just recently <
completed. The Board wishes to
take this opportunity to thank Mr
Marshall for his time and energy
•spent in planning and executing
the drive. Also, thanks are extend-
ed to Mrs R. I. Bowen, Mrs. J. T
Saunders and the troops who aided
; Mr Marshall In publicizing the
| drive, and to the Jaycees, Lions
l and Klwanlans who furnished the
j workers. ~
The Scouts, the Board and lead-
ers of Girl Scouts give their aln-
cerest thanks for the generous do-
i nation of each Individual and each
I business firm who contributed In

Specialist Speaks
To Kiwanis Club
Dr. Victor E. Schulze. San
gelo heart specialist, was
speaker at the Kiwanis club Tues
day. • ,
Dr. Schulze spoke no the ''heart
and high blood pressure, giving a
brief analysis and classification of
heart ailments and contributing
factors. He pointed out that 40 per
cent of the members present did
have or would have high blood
pressure. He added that 25 per cent
would die from high blood pressure
