We extend our best wishes to Mr;
and Mrs. Bobby Holman of Cole-
man. They were married last. Fri-
day evening. Mrs Holman will be
remembered as Miss Elton Buttry,
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Carl But-
try.

are the proud parents of a fine baby
boy, who has been named Joe Ed.
Mr. and Mrs. J D. Williamson of
Santa Anna spent Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Herman Estes
Friends rejoice with Mr. and Mrs.
Aaron Avant over the safe return
of their son, Douglas, from over-
seas. He arrived home unexpected-
ly Saturday morimlg, however they
thought he would soon be home,
but not any certain time. Seems
to me all our community boys are
home from overseas, only two still
In service, Virgil Tennyson and El-
vis Rae Cozart.
Mr and Mrs. Bud Smith and
daughters, Mr. and Mrs, J. S. Mar-
tin and son from Brownwood' and
Mr and Mrs. Preston Gardner of
San Antonio were weekend visitors
with their parents, Mr. and Mrs
Ben Smith, also Mr. and Mrs Hen-
ry Smith and children were Sunday
guests in the home.
Mr and Mrs Charles Benge and
children went to Mlllersview Mon-
day to attend the Armistice Day
celebration. .
Mr. and Mrs Henry Smith and
children moved Monday to their
new home recently purchased from
Mr and Mrs Emmltt Woods, Mr
and Mrs Mankln and children mov-
ed to the house previously occupied
by the Henry Smith family.

Armistice Day.
The Concord school came over
Friday afternoon and played our
school boys softoaU We were all
sorry that two of the Concord boys
happened to have the misfortune of
getting hurt, one of the boys will
lose possibly three teeth, which we
were very sorry happened.
Mr, and Mrs. Ben Smith was
notified the last of the week, their
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Dee Smith of
Iraan had undergone a serious oper-
ation In a San Angelp hospital We
truly wish for her a speedy recov-
ery.
Mrs Jim Carter visited with Mrs.
Oscar Lovelady last Friday.
Mrs George Rutherford, Mrs. Bill
Rutherford and baby and Mrs. Jim
Carter visited Mrs. Tom Rutherford
last Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs Jack Black of
Brownwood spent Saturday night
and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Carter.

The district singing convention
met here Sunday afternoon at the
Congregational Methodist church,
with good attendance from surroun-
ding communities.
Rev Pope - of Valera conducted
services at the First Methodist
church here Sunday. He was sent
here as pastor for the coming
year.
We spent a quiet Armistice day
here. All the stares closed.
A. J Burleson of Brownwood
has put in a picture show here and
will show every Tuesday night.
Mrs. Helen Kidd arrived here last
week from Clarksville. Tenn., for a
Rutherford last Wednesday after-
noon.
Mr. and Mrs* Ernest Norris of
California were greeting friendl as
they passed through our communi-
ty last Friday afternoon. Tire Norris
family lived at Whon several years
back. Their son, Mac, Is out of the
service and their daughter, Helen
is married. Mrs. Norris is the dau-
ghter of Mrs. McCain of Santa An-
na.
