charge of arrangement when mem-
bers of the Country Club entertaln-
■ed with a Thanksgiving dinner at
the Club House Friday evening.
The Thanksgiving motif was fea-
tured In decorations of autumn
leaves, colorful arrangements of
fruit and candles. A turkey dinner
was served to approximately 75.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
PROGRAM.
Santa Anna, Nov. 27.—Mrs. D A.
Gardner was guest speaker, and
Mrs. Chap Eads was hostess when
the Self Culture Club met for a
health and safety program Friday
afternoon.
The president, Mrs. Elgean Shield,
had charge of the business session,
and Mrs. A. D. Dunham. Jr , was in-
troduced as a new member.
The club voted to collect and send
gifts to the hospital at Camp Bowie
for Christmas. Mrs. Gardner dis-
cussed tuberculosis, and Mrs Shield
and Mrs. C. D. Bruce gave talks on
penicillin, and Mrs. S. R. Smith read
a paper on safety.
Coffee and cake were served. Two
new members were voted In at a call
session at the close of the meeting.
They are Mrs. Orvll Wyley and
Mrs. Tom Starnes. Visitors present
were Mrs Rena Pinkerton and Mrs.
Stephenson.

PRESENT CLASS PLAY.
Santa Anna, Nov. 27.—The Senior
play directed by Mrs Charles Evans
was presented Friday night in the
high school auditorium with Buford
Dodgen playing the leading part.

Moredock. Donald Ray Howard,

ty Pritchard, and Mildred French.

Evelyn Bruce did a tap'dance, and
a group of songs were sung by
Marilyn England. Wanda Price, Jo
Stephenson. Hazel Jean Rowe and
Joyce Moredock with Calice Jane
Overby at the piano. The crazy hat
parade was won by Earl Gill. and
the high school band played "E

provised altar of greenery and flow-

The bride wore a navy blue dress
with matching accessories and cor-
sage of gardenias. Mrs. Strother
was matron of honor and Sgt. Bar-
bee Elliott was best man.
Mrs Miller is a graduate of Buf-
falo High School and has been em-
ployed as nurse at the Sealy Hos-
pital for the past year Mr. Miller
Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A.
Miller of Leaday ami has been as-
sistant manager of the Miller Ranch
for the past eight years. He Is a
graduate of Coleman High School
and attended the University of Tex-

Council. Is sponsoring a “Olft Tea"
December 9 at the Jaycee Club from
2:00 to 4:30 p. m. for the benefit
of hospitalized sick service men and
women.

Legion Auxiliary headed by Mrs,
