Our crowd was small at Sunday
school Sunday, but we had a won-
derful lesson and I think each and
everyone enjoyed It. The lesson
was taught by Brother Taylor.
Well Christmas has come and
gone and seme of us enjoyed this
Christmas as Americans usually do
and we hope and pray that when It
comes again, we can all sing and
praise God with "Peace on earth
and Good Will to all mankind, the
world over.
Vada Curry Is visiting this week
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vir-
gil Curry.
Mr. and Mrs J, C. Ferguson and
Maxine and Nena Marie spent

Miss Ola Roberts was in Santa
Anna Saturday, shopping.
Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Curry and
daughter Ruth, spent Sunday in

Santa Anna with her mother. Mrs.

Raymond Armstrong, Ruth Curry,

iting In the J. C, Ferguson home
this week.

$100 war bond for constructing 300
feet of 91; perfect terrace In less
than two hours with a two-bottom
moldboard plow.

This farm-gathering of 1500 peo-
ple served a two-fold purpose by <1)
demonstrating the use of farm plows
for building terraces and <2) enter-
taining and training the farm youth
of the community.

Austin, Texas.—Health and phy-
sical education for high school boy*
and girls in their junior and senior
years should be part of high, school
curriculum, Dr. D. K. Brace,’ profes-
sor of physical and health educa-
tion at the University of Texas, said
today.
"Although there has been an In- •
crease In enrollment In physical
education, the fact remains that one
half of bur boys and girls -over 1,-
100,000- in the last two years of
high school are not receiving physi-
cal education," Dr. Brace said.
Only 20 per cent of the boys and
20 per cent of the girls in their
Junior and senior years are enrolled
In health education, he said.

Christmas has come and gone,
bringing with it a new cold spell.
Tonight It Is drizzling and Ice Is
clinging to the tree branches, and
fences. There has been quite a bit
cf holiday visiting, a few families
had the entire family at home, but
most of the homes had several va-
cancies due to boys in the service.
With Christmas gone, let me wish
all of you a Happy Prosperous New
Year.
Pvt. and Mrs. Ivan Clark of Min-
eral Wells spent the Christmas holi-
days with relatives here and In Cross
Plains.
Mr. and Mrs Henry Fox of
Brownwood and son, Seaman Clin-
ton Fox of San Diego, spent Sunday
here visiting Mr and Mrs. J. M
Fox.
Pvt. Junior Strawn of Camp Wol-
ters, was home with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Les Strawn for Christ-
mas.
Pvt. and Mrs. Hershel Gray .and
children cf Camp Bowie, spent
Christmas with his parents, Mr and
Mrs. D. C. Gray.

Christmas dinner guests, Mrs. Opal

ABOUT THE VULGATE BIBLE.
For his translation of the Bible,
St. Jerome went back to the original
Creek apd Hebrew manuscripts. His
work is called the Vulgate Bible. He
spent 34 years at the heroic task of
translating the Bible.
