..... "0 ■ ■
I am taking this means of an-
nouncing my condldacy for Coun-
ty Judge of Coleman County, sub-
ject' to the July primaries. I am'
now serving my second term! as
County Attorney, and wish to state
thut I am indeed grateful to the
people of this county for the sup-
port and confidence given me in
the past elections, and trust that
I merit further support for an of-
fice of greater Importance
\ I was born and reared In Cole-
man County, my father and moth-
er being pioneer citizens of this
county, settling In 1877 In the
Burkett community, where my
mother now lives. I received my
legal training in the A,ow Depart-
ment of the University of Texas,
and for three years was the Junior
Member of the firm of Jenkins,
Miller & Harris of Brownwood, la-
ter engaging in the general prac-
tice of law here In Coleman. I
believe that my experience' as
County Attorney has given me an
insight into the affairs of our
county, that would be of value to
me in discharging the duties of
County Judge. My training and
experience in the practice of law
in nil the courts of this state
should enable me to handle the
legal matters coming be%>re the
county court, and to properly look
after the administration of bur
Ouardian and Probate laws.
If I should be elected to this of-
fice, I shall urge the strictest of
economy In the > affairs of the-
county, that our taxes may be kept
to the minimum. It will be.mV
purpose to cooperate to the Dill-
est extent with the State and Fed-
eral relief agencies. In furnishing
work for our unemployed, to alle-
viate In every possible way the
severity of the depression which
now grips our nation.
I sincerely solicit the support
and Influence of the people of this
county, and will try to see as
many of the voters as possible be-
fore the election.
Yours truly,
JOHN O. HARRIS.
