Sammie Sue Miller, who is attend-
ing Seton's School of Nursing at
Austin, spent Saturday and Sunday

visited In Coleman over the week-

returned Friday to their home in
Klttery Point, Maine, after spending
the past four weeks here with her

attended, the Sweetwater-Lubbock
football game In Sweetwater last
Friday night.
Mrs J W Batsell of Talpa was
a Coleman visitor Tuesday
Mr and Mrs Knox Campbell and
daughter. Elizabeth, of Talpa, spent
the day here Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. T. C. Hart They also attend-
ed services at the First Baptist
church.
Pvt. Clinton .Earl Hart, son of
Mr and Mrs. T C Hart' is sta-
tioned at the AAF Training Center
at San Antonio He volunteered for
service about .three weeks ago.
Hudson Justice, son of Mr and
Mrs L. M Justice, who 1s with the
Marine Corps, at San Diego, Calif.
has been promoted to private first
class
Miss Patsy Price, who- is attend-
ing a commercial art school in Fort
Worth, visited over the weekend
with her parents, Mr and Mrs. J
C. Price.
Mrs Alice Roquemore returned
Tuesday afternoon from Junction,
where she visited with her daugh-
ter, Mrs, W M Moore and family.

bany spent the past weekend with

Mrs H. R. Fossler left Tuesday for

attending the funeral here Friday
of her sister, Miss Lucile Babbtng-
ton.
Sam Squyres of Ooukibusk was a
business visitor in Coleman Tues-

Mrs. Eugene Day and Mrs, Henry
Ferrell of Eastland amended a
meeting at the First Christian
church here Monday and while
here were guests of Mrs. Nelman
Smith and family.
Mrs. Fred Shield and daughter,
Patsy of San Antonio, visited hert
Sunday with Mrs Leon Shield.
Hubert Shore. -Mrs P. A Ortfftn
and Edgar Wilson left Monday for
Oklahoma City where they will go
through the hay fever and asthma
clinic They will return to Coleman
Saturday.

community was a Coleman visitor

Of Local People
Dies In FI. Worth
Karl A Mulkey, 69. brother-in-
law of Mrs Ella Mulkey of Cole-
man. and son of the founder of
the former Mulkey Memorial Meth-
odist church of Fort Worth, dlJd
late Monday afternoon at his home
in. Handley
Mr Mulkey was the son of
George Mulkey. former fire and
police commissioner here who
founded the church at St. Louis
and W, Cannon In 1889 as a mem-
orial to hi* parents
A tarrant resident all his life, |
Mr Mulkey also was one of less
than a dozen charter members of
the church which In November
1940 was merged with the former
Broadway Methodist church Into St. j
Mark* Methodist Church
For several years, Mr Mulkey had
been employed In the city health
department
Survivors Include his widow, Mr*
Dora Mulkey of Handley, mother.
Former Talpa Man
Dies At Sadler
W. T. (Billy) Martin, former Tal-
pa man. died Saturday, September
14 at his home in Sadler, Texas.
He was born April 4, 1871 at Red
Bolling Springs, Tenn He was mar-
ried to Mary Elizabeth Canada in
January 1890, who preceded him
In dtftth. May 18, 1943
They lived in. the Talpa com-
munity 15 year*"before moving to
Grayson county In 1918. While liv-
ing in Talpa they were members of
the First Baptist church of Talpa.
He is survived by four sons, and
five daughters, Dewey of Talpa;
Marlon of Loop; Carlie of Sadler; ’^L
Charlie of Hot Springs, Ark, Mrs. 1
Ona Brown of Jacksboro, Mrs, Bes- S
sie Rae of Talpa; Mrs. Princess 9
