News From Our
Roving Reporter
(By l a DARLING)
By the way, looks like some folks
are jjetting pretty smart . , , fa
getting scared . . . looks like they
are going to change the shape of
our hen egg . . . going to make it
where It will sit on the table and
won't roil off , . In other words
with this new egg you can stack
them up in the ice box and that
way will take up less space . . I
don't know Just how the production
will be on this new invention , ,
It may be old Mother Nature will
step in and take a hand in the
matter ... It Just wouldn’t look
right trying to fry a square egg
Luther Burbank climbed to fame
changing the rose . . . sprinkling
different colors In the petal . , ,
look how they have changed wheat
. . gotten down to where you
use lots less wheat per acre with
the new seed. So I bow out of
the picture as to what they might
do to the old time egg - Mother
time will tell the story so let's wait
and see1 what happens . . but don’t
be surprised A fellow was telling
me Just the other day how water-
melons grew In Weatherford. Texas
. . said he saw a bunch of men
trying to load one in a box car—
ahd quite a few men standing
around watching the Job well done
.. . they let the rope slip, the melon
fell, burs ted and drowned nine men
. .. So you can see by this the gov-
ernor was right when he said Ar-
kansas wouldn’t ever beat Tfcxas
growing watermelons In closing,
here is the thought lor the week
