Marries McAllen Girl
Mr. and Mrs. John McCulloch re-
ceived word Wedneday of the mar
riage of their son, Albert to Miss
Ella Rhea Talley of McAllen on
Saturday, January 31.
Mr McCulloch has been employ-
ed as electrician at the army camp
at Mission, Texas, for the past
year and will be transferred to the
camp under construction at Bas-
trop as soon as the camp is com-
pleted. He is a graduate of Cole-
man high school and was employ-
ed by -the. city as electrician for
four years before going to Mis-
sion.

Mrs. J, H. Greenway spoke on
“Training for Defense" at a meet-
ing of the Business and Profes-
sional Women's Club Tuesday eve-
ning at the Coleman hotel Mrs.
Qreenway stressed defense from a
local angle. Mrs . Lucy Moore con-
ducted a quiz on “Local Defense."
A vocal selection by Miss Hazel
Scott, with Mrs. Jack Ram bo as
piano accompanist, concluded the
program.
Misses Elisabeth Adair and Leola
Ivtnhour were elected members of
the dub. Twenty-one members
were present for the meeting.
Maxwell who read a paper prepared
by Mrs. George Garrett, Mrs. E. M.
Jones and Mrs. Joe K. Taylor.
The group selected “Hamlet” and
“Merchant of Venice’ as the two
Shakespearian plays to be studied
next year.
There were fourteen members
present for the meeting.

Mrs. Bob Browning was hostess
last Friday when members of the
Round Robin Club met at the Cole-
man hotel for a luncheon and at
her home to play games of contract.

of fertilizer and how to combat In-
sect pests Is also essential.
Our state president says, “Learn
to grow well a few good vegetables
and flowers, rather than to experi-
ment with a lot; thus you will help

ed a program honoring fathers.
Rev. Robert F. Jones gave the in-
vocation. The rhythm band, pu-
pils from Miss Mabel Scott's room
presented two numbers. And a
medley of patriotic songs sung by
the choral club completed the pro-
gram. Miss 8cott Introduced the1
speaker.
During a brief business session it
was voted to contribute $2.00 for
the Founders Day fund. The hos

with a gardinia corsage. For some-
thing old and borrowed she carried
a handkerchief that belonged to
Mrs. Theus' great-grandmother.
