NO DOUBT YOU HAVE HEARD
that the American people like to he humbugged. I
don’t believe this is true. They often get humbugged,
but they don’t appreciare it.
We are, in my opinion, in the beginning of some very hard
times. You want to make your money go as far as possible.
We have no schemes to get you into our store. BEWARE OF
SCHEMES. They cost you money.
REMEMBER THE PURE FOOD LAW
when you go to buy GROCERIES. We have them that will
stand the test of the State and National Pure Food Laws. t

J. B. Hood.
Mr. Hood came from that sec-
and prepare it; and his
ent is that it will do well
There has lately been a ma-
invented that does away
the fiber from the woody
The raising of hemp will
now become a leading indus\ry in
parts pf the country adapted to its
growth.
Mr. Hood states that his hemp
did not seed well but that does
not interfere with the fiber; be-
side, that grown on the county
farm did seed well. If the plant
does as well in broportipn in a sea-
sonable year as it did this dry
year it certainly would be a suc-
cess here.
As few people are familiar with
its uses we will state that it is
used for making linen cloth as it
is much superior to flax and much
easier grown. Since the invention
of the thresher that separates the
fiber the hemp industry is thought
to be revolutionary in its scope
and this machine will have the
same or similar effect as the inven-
tion of the cotton gin.
Is Jack county adapted to its
growth? is the question. This
small amount of seed was planted
here oti trial
in a dry year. Will it continue to
do well? The next thing to do, in
the opinion of the News, is for a
of neckties. I guess the little
girls want to see him “dike up’’
ail the time. All enjoyed the hap-
py day.
Cotton picking is the rage now,
the greatest trouble is finding the
cotton. It is like hunting for lost
treasure. Just keep thinking what
ought to have been made. Try,
try again, is my motto.
We certainly enjoy reading the
News each week, and hope it will
continue to improve. A Reader.
Occasional headache, belching, bad
taste in the mouth, lack of appetite and
slight nervousness are systems of indi-
gestion which, when allowed to go un-
cared for, will develop into a case of
dyspepsia that will take a long time to
get rid of. Don’t neglect your stom-
ach. At the first indication of trouble
take something that will help along in
work of digesting the food you eat.
Kodol for indigestion and dyspepsia
will do this. Kodol will make your
food do you good and will enable you to
enjoy what you eat. Sold by Jacks-
