tTHT Bake-Off Planned
Young Homemakers will again sponsor
their annual bake-off in The First National
Bank Hospitality Room Friday, October 8.
Anyone wishing to enter may, according to
YHT members, who reported they are looking
for more men to participate in this year's
contest.
There are six categories, and participants
may enter as many items as desired in each.
Baked good should, however, be brought to
the bank before 9:00 a.m., as judging will
begin at 9:30.
^ No one will be allowed in the room during
^■dging, with the exception of judges and
T^ake-off committee members, but the public
is invited to buy food, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
All items must be baked in the oven and no
mixes of any kind are allowed. Any recipe
breaking the rules will be disqualified, and
all contestants are asked to bring a written
copy of the recipe on 3" by 5" cards along with
each item entered.
All entries become the property of Young
Homemakers and cannot be returned. No
sampling will be allowed, except by judges,
and YHT members requested no children be
brought to the bake-off.

Members explained there were only a few
pies and decorated- cakes entered in last
year's competition, and they hoped for more
this year, as in every category.

may do so 6:15 p.m. Thursday, October 7,
when the hospitality room will be open for
about 30 minutes.

What A Week!
BHS has had seven
days of whirlwind six
weeks exams. In
addition to tests,
football, cheerleader,
drill team and pep
squad pictures were
taken.
Hard Fought Game
Last Friday night's
game against Muenster
Sacred Heart turned
out to be a tough
challenge for our
Cowboys. The final
score was 22-8, in their
favor. _
Jr. High Games
Our Junior High
Buckaroos traveled to
Fort Worth to play
Masonic Home. The
final score was 26-3,
Masonic Home's favor.
We are still very
proud of our Junior Big
Blues!
Volleyball
Bryson Cowgirls
challenged Megargal to
a volleyball game, with
Megargal barely pull-
ing through as the
victors.

Spirits Run High

Salazar Leads Pirate Offense
In Thursday's Loss to Santo

Two undefeated teams clashed Thursday,
September 30, when the Perrin Pirates ended
an otherwise successful month with a 26-0
loss to the Santo Junior High Wildcats.
Leading rusher for the Pirates was Kenny
Salazar, with 41 yards on 11 carries, followed
by Coby Bowsher with 37 yards on 10 carries.
Cody Lyon had 23 yards on six carries and
also caught a pass from Quarterback Roby
Holland for 22 yards.
Kenny Salazar led the Pirates' defense,
with eight tackles. Anthony Rittenbury
played his best defensive game as he made
five tackles; three of which were open field
tackles on a one-to-one basis. Other Pirates
playing well on defense were Cody Lyon,
Coby Bowsher, Jeff Gillespie, Don Davis,
Marks Mealio, Danny Jackson, Chris
Cannon and Christian Von Atzigen.
