ELSIE WILSON
... Sweepitaltei Winner
3V;
PAT BRYAN, left; CAROLYN HAMMONDS
Well, the fair displays were a
wonderful success. We are very
happy to announce that Elsie Wil-
son, one of our residents, won the
grand prize at the Fiesta de la
Paloma. She is pictured with her
pillow cases that won the grand
prize and a blue ribbon and also with
her embroidered baby quilt that
won a blue ribbon, also. Her pillow
cases were a rose pink color and
were embroidered with a flower
basket and scattered wild flowers
edging for the pillow cases, in a
lighter pink color. She was very
pleased with her grand prize ribbon
and also with her check for $50,
which she also received as winner.
We at Holiday Hill are so very
proud of Elsie and look forward to
being able to display more of her
beautiful work at the fair in coming
years.
Also pictured are Pat Bryan, one
of our LVN’s at Holiday Hill, who
was in charge of our craft display
table at the fair, and Carolyn
Hammonds, who also helped to
judge the displays. They are holding
up Elsie Wilson's pil-
low cases and pictured on the table
in front of them are some of the
many entries that the ladies from
Holiday Hill had on exhibit.
We had several of our residents
that entered exhibits in the fair, and
I’m very proud to annouce that each
of our residents won at least one or
more blue ribbons. Those that had
entries in the fair this year from
Holiday Hill were Anna Wells,
Elizabeth Poteet, Cora Bowers,
Gladys Buford. Pearl Hallford, Flor-
ence Eudy, Noreene Winstead and
Martha LeMay, and also Dovie
Allen.
We are all very proud of our
ladies as they all worked very hard
getting their projects ready for the
fair, and they turned out some
beautiful craft work, such as em-
broidery, knitting, weather watch-
ers, bead work, liquid embroidery
and other crafts. We are already
starting some new projects, so we
hope to see you all at the fair next
year.
