FmHA Assisted
3300 Households
In Texas
The Farmers Home Administra-
tion helped 3300 Texas households
through its single family and rental
programs during the 1984 fiscal
year, State FmHA Director J. Lynn
Futch reported today.
The loans, totaling $101,000,000
were made under programs to assist
families who are without safe,
decent and sanitary housing and
who need credit but cannot obtain it
from private tenders.
Futch said that during the 12
months ending September 30,
FmHA provided 1600 single family
home loans totaling $66,000,000, and
52 rental housing loans totaling
$46,000,000, which provided for
3300 housing units.
National preliminary figures
show FmHA provided some 63,000
loans totaling $2.8 billion in all rural
housing assistance.
FmHA is a credit agency of the
U.S. Department of Agriculture. It
provides loan assistance to farmers
and other rural residents who need
credit but cannot get it elsewhere.
All loans are to be repaid in full, plus
interest.
